Some moments of wonderful wit....,
By
This review is from: Real Women Don't Wear Size 2 (Paperback)
Clarise Robinson believes in making lists- and this year's list includes becoming more than just friends with her sexy boss, Ethan Eubanks, at Eubanks Elegant Apparel. Clarise has always forgone the corporate bonding experience held yearly in Tampa, Florida, during Gasparilla but this year's she's going to let out her wild side. Will Ethan be able to see beyond their friendship to the sexy woman Clarise truly is?
REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2 offers a welcome change from the focus on the "heroin chic" look of fashion models. Clarise has some insecurities about her figure and considers herself "fluffy". The reader will cheer as Clarise comes out of her shell and recognizes that her curvy, voluptuous figure is beautiful. The surprising twist at the end is phenomenal and showcases the writing talent of Kelley St. John. Unfortunately, REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2 appears overly long. The checklist of places to have sex at Gasparilla- and the exploration of each and every item on that list- causes the book to drag a bit in the middle. While Kelley St. John firmly convinces the reader of the attraction between Ethan and Clarise, the middle of the book slows down the flow and loses the wonderful wit displayed elsewhere in REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2. Readers who enjoy heroines who aren't the perfect size 2 will relish reading about Clarise and her awakening to her own beauty. Kelley St. John is obviously familiar with the Gasparilla festivities in Tampa and does an excellent job at making this yearly festival come alive to readers. REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2 will definitely appeal to some readers as Clarise is a different type of heroine. Kudos to Kelley St. John for daring to emphasize the beauty of a woman who isn't the perfect size 2. COURTESY OF CK2S KWIPS AND KRITIQUES

Real Women Don't Wear Size 2,
This review is from: Real Women Don't Wear Size 2 (Paperback)
Clarise Robinson has the hots for her boss Ethan Eubanks. Ethan is her best friend, but she wants him to see her as a woman. Clarise is determined to get him to notice her.
Ethan notices Clarise alright, but he worries about losing their great friendship if he takes things to the next level. On the corporate bonding trip in Gasparilla, Clarise had plans to finally fulfill her fantasies with Ethan, but it turns out he's not going. When Ethan's plans change, Clarise gets everything she wants and more, until she discovers the secret Ethan has been hiding and it nearly breaks her heart. Real Women Don't Wear Size 2 is a fun, flirty and romantic story that had me bouncing with anticipation for Ethan and Clarise to get together. Clarise is fun and adventurous. Ethan is handsome, sexy, and an all around great guy. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow and change. The ending threw me for a loop after all of the bliss that came before. it but everything works out as it should. Real Women Don't Wear Size 2 is a delightful, funny, and sensual story. I loved this book! It has a cute story and very steamy love scenes.
I could not put it down and hated to finish it. I may read it again and that is saying something! It is a great story about a woman who is a little insecure about her looks, mainly because she is about 20 or so pounds overweight, or so she thinks. She gains confidence, has a ball doing it, and finds love in the strangest way. It is a wonderful love story guaranteed to make you feel good!!! Did I mention the steamy love scenes!??!!? Give it a try. If you like contemporary romance novels or if you are/were a fan of Sex in the City, read this book!

He's been her best friend as well as her boss, but Clarise Robinson has decided to step that up. She's going to switch from professional to sexy, shimmy her assets, and grab sexy Ethan Eubanks's attention while they're at the company retreat during the famous Gasparilla Pirate festival. Clarise might be a little self-conscious about her weight, but she has full confidence in her shimmy--and her assets. They aren't named the Robinson Treasures for nothing. To make sure everything goes off according to plan, Clarise abandons the classy department store where she works to shop for pure sexy--and comes up with a list of everything she's always wanted to do--with Ethan.
Ethan Eubanks had begun to think he'd never find the woman he could settle down with. But when he sees his best friend Clarise at the Christmas party in her hot red dress, he realizes she's been there all along. Now all he needs to do is convince her. When she insists on no commitment, he's willing to go along--but only because going along with her plan, with her list, will give him a chance to persuade her otherwise. Of course, Clarise's list does include all sorts of items that he fully approves of--starting with sex under the bleachers, sex with the lights on, sex on the beach, sex... yeah, he can get into that plan. Things are looking good for their relationship possibilities--except that Ethan has managed not to mention one little secret, a secret that just might ruin everything. Author Kelley St. John turns up the heat in a funny but sizzling story. Clarise is fun to watch as she abandons her inhibitions and decides to go for it all--even if it's only for a week. Watching her embrace her curves, just as she's helped many department store shoppers learn to accentuate the positives adds to the feel-good power of the story. Ethan is a classic hero--rich, powerful, and good looking, he's definitely the guy for Clarise, if only he can recognize it, and if only his secret doesn't get in the way. REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2 is a fun read that's so hot, it just might make you switch on the air conditioner. I'm happy to recommend this one.

It doesn't happen very often, but I was not pleased with this book. I even tried skipping ahead (which I don't like to do), and I still didn't like the story line.

I enjoyed this book, although as a size 2 I guess I'm not a real woman. I think that most women can appriciate how the main character in this book has always felt that no man would find her curves sexy.

This is a real keeper,

Clarise's best friend/boss Ethan Eubanks was part of her secret fantasies for ages. Now that she turned 30, she plans to become a whole new person and to attend the corporate bonding trip to Tampa's Gasparilla festival. But that is easier said than done. She has a whole list of plans for the trip, but will she be brave enough to follow her dreams? And how will Ethan react to the real Clarise?
REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2 is an absolute sexy and witty book, that will definitely find a place on your keeper shelf. Ms. St. John created with Clarise, a heroine with which every woman can easily identify. You read the book and see Clarise's problems and you say "Oh yes I have been in the same situation". Her biggest problem is to make Ethan see her as a woman and not only as his best buddy, but she has to overcome her own shyness and get more self-confidence first, before she becomes Clarise unplugged as Ethan says it. Ethan is a hero who is really too good to be true. He is romantic, loyal and absolutely lovable. He knew that he had feelings for Clarise, but it took him awhile till he discovered that it was more than friendship. What is so special about this book is that it also has a message for the readers. No matter what you look like, you can always follow your dreams. As the titles says you don't have to be thin to be a real woman and sexy. This reviewer was sad when she turned the last page, because she didn't want the story to end. The characters of REAL WOMEN DON'T WEAR SIZE 2 will stay with you for a long time. Ms. St. John is definitely an author that you will want to keep an eye on. This reviewer definitely adds her to her auto-buy list! [...].

If you love fun, flirty romance with a sexy, confident man and sweet, sexy and not so confident women I think you'll really like this book.
If you like Rachel Gibson, Susan Donovan, LeAnne Banks & Susan Elizabeth Phillips then I think you'll enjoy this great book by Kelley St.John.

When it was all said and done, I really enjoyed this book. But it was kind of hard to get into. At first I didn't like the writing style, but once I got into the characters and the storyline, then I didn't really notice it as much. There were also a lot of repetition (like the same thoughts or even sentences being expressed over and over again), but again, it is easily overlooked when you get into the story. One thing I didn't like was how the main character saw herself as this overweight not too attractive gal. I know that's how a lot of women see themselves, but it made it hard for me to see her as attractive.
