Telle's vocals get better every time.

This album is all around amazing, would definitely recommend to anyone that is a long time TWA fan or someone that has never heard of them before!

The Word Alive are back for their third LP, and they did not disappoint. As sort of a preface, I loved Deceiver, and didn't like Life Cycles very much. This album, however, has completely won me back as a TWA fan. Every single member stepped up huge on this album. Telle, however, stepped up the most. His vocals are 10 times better than anything he has done before. Best evidence of this can be seen on Play the Victim, Lighthouse, and Glass Castle.

Here's a track by track review:
Play the Victim: 9/10- a very solid start to the album. Telle's beautiful clean vocals dominate this track.
Never Forget: 9/10- nice heavy song remembering those we have lost.
Broken Circuit: 10/10- great song all around with a beautiful solo, as well as really cool samples/synth.
Lighthouse: 9/10- a very catchy song (I actually think they tried too hard to make it catchy so that it may get radio play), but this is a song unlike anything TWA has done before; I wouldn't be surprised to hear this on Octane soon.
The Fortune Teller: 8/10- a good song, but nothing that really makes it a standout track.
Glass Castle: 10/10- a heavy song that really shows how much Telle has gotten better at screaming, the instrumentals are great as well.
94th Street: 10/10- my favorite song on the album, it's kind of a slower heavy song, but the samples with the vocals are just perfect.
Your Mirage: 8/10- another good song, but nothing that really makes it stand out to me.
Terminal: 10/10- my second favorite song, everything about this song is really good.
The Runaway: 7/10- worst song on the album, it has potential for radio play, but it just isn't a good song to me; it is a song that is meant to help those with self-harm and depression, but this song just doesn't do it for me.

After hearing Play the Victim, I was expecting this album to blow me away. Not so much. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good piece of work, but there are several songs that you will end up skipping a lot.

I think this is probably their worst album so far. This band is too good for this type of mediocre music they put out on this album.

What a disappointment. I became a TWA fan after seeing them open for Unearth. TWA had a guitarist who really stood out from all the other metalcore guitarists.. His riffing along with the vocals got me really into their sound. On this album I can't even tell if he's still in the band. Best of luck Zack Hansen, you've either been neutered or you drank the kool-aid. What a lame album.
