A true snack for the mind and soul,
By Sami White "Sami" (Seattle, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Real World Guide to Happiness (Paperback)
Before I read this book, the most appealing side to me was the fact it wasn't written by a Ph.D. in psychology or similar. The book is easy to read, short and goes right to the point. It does put in focus the prerequisites of happiness and what typical human shortcomings usually stand in the way of such an enterprise. Few days after I read it the first time, I brought it with me to a coffee shop and read it again. To my surprise, I found out that I memorized lots of its content, then, I found myself trying to apply them in my daily life. I now feel more grateful for the good things I already have in life. I drive slower and I am under less stress in my car. Around me, everything seems more beautiful than before. In addition to this, because of all these changes in me, I am more productive in my work and all the stuff that I have to do or want to do.

Real World Guide to Happiness is very interesting and enlightening. The author keeps the reading light andinteresting leaving the reader wanting to continue. This is a great book that people carry with them or have it near by to refer to in their daily lives. It's not only a book that helps when you are struggling with life, but can also lift your spirits on a daily basis. The book, while reading it, helps you to focus on the positive things in life or how to achieve happiness and serenity in your daily trials. I would have loved to have, had several copies of this book to give to various friends and family. The author's use of words makes it easy for anyone to read and understand. Author, Mary Jesse incorporates humor along with the serious, which makes the book easy to read. The reading level is appropriate for a high fourth grade reading level and up. I highly recommend Real World Guide to Happiness for anyone wanting a positive impact on his or her life. Sherry Kruegel, reviewer for Betsie's Literary Page

ISBN: 0-9729958-1-1Title: Real World Guide To Happiness Author: Mary Jesse Publisher: Hexagon Blue The saying `good things come in small packages' holds especially true for Mary Jesse's 64 page book "Real World Guide To Happiness." Jesse's guide, while short, is succinct, easily read, and brilliantly achievable. The author's excellent verbal skill is apparent in her concise style and complete comprehension of her subject, happiness. With such sayings as - `Nice guys do not finish last. Some people are just confused about the location of the finish line,' - Mary Jesse draws readers into her realm of thinking. A quick but accurate accounting of "Real World Guide To Happiness" can be obtained by reviewing the condensed italicized tenets throughout the book. "Real World Guide To Happiness" - a emotion all of us are interested in attaining - is the perfect size for carrying in your pocket or purse. Jesse's book is excellent for sharing and would make a great gift for family or friends. Good job, Jesse! Beverly J Scott author of "Righteous Revenge" and "Ruth Fever."
