Realities of Nutrition,
By Bernie Hayden (Redmond, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Realities of Nutrition (Completely Rev) (Paperback)
This book is written such that it can be used as a text book but is also an easy read. Great organization and a superb index make it a wonderful bookshelf reference. This is NOT a diet book. It doesn't tell you what to eat but rather presents the facts about food and human physiology so that you can make your own informed decisions.

A Solid Foundation in Nutrition Understanding,
By
This review is from: Realities of Nutrition (Completely Rev) (Paperback)
This book attempts to lay down a solid foundation on understanding nutrition from a scientific/empirical approach. You do not need any prior information as the writers have an exceptional grasp on providing essential complex infomration in an easily understable method.
For me it seemed ridiculous to read a diet book preaching this or that when I didn't even know what a carbohydrate actually is and how it is used. Or what happens when the body is low on protein. Even in diet books where they give you this informationm it comes with a slant to steer you towards their advice. This book gives no such slant, just the science mixed with good writing. If you want to understand what nutrition is and what is the factual science is behind it, then this is your book. |
