5.0 out of 5 stars Brain food for the advanced Seth reader, May 26, 1998
This review is from: The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book (Paperback)
In this book (two volumes) Seth adds depth to some of the concepts introduced in Seth Speaks (Reincarnation, Probabilities) and adds new flavours (Counterparts, Families of Consciousness). Excellent and intriguing as usual but you should have read and enjoyed "Seth Speaks" or "Nature of personal reality" before you dig into this one. However, I just finished reading it for the third time and (again) it's been like a new book to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Cage of Time, April 19, 2009

This review is from: The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book (Paperback)
Since this is a Seth book, I recommend you read "Seth Speaks" and then "The Nature of Personal Reality" first before you read this book. It is volume 1 of 2 and it is significantly smaller than volume 2. It is also more expensive than volume 2. In my opinion, the books should have been sold as 1 volume. Some of my favorite topics and if you will higher wisdoms included in the book are as follows:

There is One God, but within that God are many.

There is one self, but within that one self are many.

You live all your lives at once. All time exists at once.

All units of consciousness exist at once.

Our religions for the most part have taught us to hate physical existence. They have taught us to love God but have not taught us to experience the gods within us.

We constantly create probable selves that are as real as us. We for the most part don't possess the ability to follow those lives as they break away from us.

The male aspects of Christ were the ones that Western Civilization emphasized. Other portions of his teachings did not follow the main line of Christian thought, and were buried.

Most of us have forgotten our "Source Soul". We embrace the illusion of the "separation". Seth refers to it as "gone native". We as the children of our Source Soul forgot that we can move through time as easily as through space.

Since thought precedes physical reality, it is only natural that we experience many thoughts as fiction, art or pure theory. In other words we experience the "ideal" as thought.

The art of dreaming is a science long forgotten by our world. Such an art, pursued, trains the mind in a new kind of consciousness-one that is equally at home in either existence, well grounded and secure in each. Almost anyone can become a satisfied and productive amateur in this art-science; but its true fulfillment takes years of training, a strong sense of purpose, and a dedication-as does any true vocation.

"Your present universe is a mass-shared dream, quite valid-a dream that presents a reality in a certain light; a dream that is above all meaningful, creative, based not upon chaos, but upon spontaneous order. To understand it, however, you must go to another level of consciousness-one where, perhaps, the dream momentarily does not seem so real. There, from another viewpoint, you can see it even more clearly, holding it like a photograph in your hands; at the same time you can see from that broader perspective that you do indeed also stand outside the dream context, but in a `within' that cannot show in the snapshot because of its limitations."

Finally, Seth mentions a past civilization that was able to travel thru space and time using mental physics. They created ancient maps drawn from a 200-mile-or-more vantage point-these meticulously completed on return from such journeys.

This book was amazing. There are even practice elements that while seemingly difficult are achievable. I was amazed at the results; onto volume 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ask to see your counterpart!!!, October 17, 2005
By
Mom (Northern California) - See all my reviews
I will tell you a story. After reading this book, I wondered if I had a counterpart anywhere near my home!! I asked in my mind to be shown this person, if there was one, and to be shown in such clarity that I would recognize him or her!! As I sat in a cafe, about a week later, a man came into the cafe with a small child. He was wearing the exact clothes I was wearing, down to the running shoes. We had the same shirt on and khaki pants! We had the same body shape, he being a bit taller. He had gotten out of a silver Mercedes( I used to dream about owning one!) Every hair on my body stood up. The child with him had a t-shirt on which read "Sister". My own sister in this life lived one day, "died" in 1942. I had this most wonderful feeling of peace. Just coincidence? No, I don't think so. Cheers!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book!, October 16, 2007
This review is from: The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book (Paperback)
This book, along with any other Seth book, can open your mind to new ways of seeing yourself and the world we live in. I can read one page, sometimes, one sentence, and have something to reflect on for hours, if not forever. Highly recommended if you want to expand your awareness.

This book and all the other Seth books written by Jane Roberts should be required reading for all. This empowering information is life changing. I highly recommend this book and all the other Seth books as well. It's the only way, as I see it, to have a happier, peaceful, fullfilling life.

5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK ONLY IF YOU ARE CURIOUS ABOUT THE MEANING OF LIFE, April 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this book for my daughter as I had read all of the Seth books a few years back. For those new to Seth it would be best, although not necessary, I think, to begin with the first book, The Eternal Validity of the Soul. That book provides a backdrop to the rest of the books. Let me introduce a disclaimer here: If you consider yourself a fundamentalist Christian, Muslim, or Jew, this is NOT the book for you and you will find it does not fit into your belief system. If, however, you have a scientific frame of mind, you will find these books to be priceless. Happy reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Personal Growth, June 6, 2010

This review is from: The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book (Paperback)
I'm not really sure how to describe this book. I read it many years ago and remembered that it was "earth shattering" even then. The problem was that science hadn't come that far so I had a hard time believing much of what I was reading. Well since then science has confirmed a great deal of it so I decided to re-visit this and all the Seth books. I'm so very glad I did. It explains so much and offers a great foundation for personal growth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seth Rocks!, November 2, 2009

This review is from: The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book (Paperback)
Amazing - there is no other word to describe the Seth books. Unknown Reality begins to go beyond the basics of you creating your own reality through your thoughts. Unknown Reality discusses depth of soul journeys and our relationships to our own soul and others. Definitely worth the time invested.

5.0 out of 5 stars An oldie, but a goodie, July 24, 2008

The Seth work was some of my earliest introduction into consciousness research. Rereading it after all these years was a real treat. It still strikes me as very high quality material.
