Dominick Dunne wrote An Inconvenient Woman, based on a true crime set in the mid eighties in Los Angeles. While this book has all the attributes of the usual Dunne novel, I much preferred the true crime story upon which his novel is based. The book, "Beautiful Bad Girl" is the nonfiction account of the long time mistress of Alfred Bloomingdale, Vicki Morgan. She was brutally murdered in a controversial crime, and the story sparked allegations of sex tapes, high ranking officials and palimony trials. Reality has far more impact than the sanitized, fictionalized version.
