After 28 years of meditation I stumbled onto Eckhart Tolle and my real spiritual journey began. His book, The Power of Now, left me wanting more so when I found The Realization of Being I bought it without hesitation, and I have not been disappointed. While listening to Eckhart talk my concepts, ideas, beliefs, and judgements begin to effortlessly fall away like leaves from a tree in a gentle autumn wind. What I am left with is the direct realization of what I really am - a still, calm, unbounded awareness. This was what I had always looked for in meditation but which seemed to elude me by my very efforts to find it.

Eckhart's style is to use simple language and gentle humor, and brilliantly simple suggestions to bring you home to the core of your Being. One of his suggestions is to become aware of the silence between words and sentences. His speaking style enables you to do this quite spontaneously, leading you to plunge beyond your mind and into who you are. What I like most about this talk is that each successive listening is like the first time - fresh and new. I always hear something new and I become more deeply rooted into my true self. I love this talk and am truly grateful for Eckhart and the message he brings.

Eckhardt Tolle's "THE REALIZATION OF BEING" provides the listener with a genuine opportunity to experience the subject of this recorded seminar: being, and all the aliveness that goes with it. In the first CD, Tolle discusses what it's like to live in the moment and what drives us out of the moment. By the second CD, Tolle's speaking pace drops significantly, so that listeners can experience the energy of their being during silence. The tone of this audio CD is calm and meditative. In fact, a disclaimer on the back cover cautions not to listen to the program while driving or operating heavy machinery due to the meditative nature of the recording. In his generally quiet way, (with occasional bursts of faster and more energetic speaking) Tolle guides listeners to the richness of living from the state of being, not from thinking. We're all very good at thinking, he says, but being requires practice. Another great way to practice living in the moment is through the work of authors Ariel and Shya Kane - read their book "WORKING ON YOURSELF DOESN'T WORK" or listen to one of their audiotapes, such as "THE PRINCIPLES OF TRANSFORMATION." On the subject of living life as magically as it is intended to be, Tolle and the Kanes represent a rare and great guiding force.

These CDs address the issue of how to EXPERIENCE the shift in consciousness that Eckhart describes as "being", as opposed to compulsive thinking (which is the baseline for most of us). As he explains on the tape, the words are not what is important, rather it is the experience of "being". People often describe an advancement in understanding that can occur in the presence of someone who is enlightened. This same benefit or "presence" can be felt when listening to these CDs. If one is not connecting with the experience, then the words alone have little meaning (and the pauses and laugh can be annoying) which may explain the discrepancy in the reviews so far. If you have read and connected with the book, "The Power of Now", I cannot recommend these CDs highly enough. If you haven't read the book, you're missing one of the greatest books of this century.

This CD set deserves 10 stars. I play it again again and always hear something new. It's an essential companion to The Power of Now tapes (which I transferred to CD).

The meaning of life, the secret of happiness and lasting inner peace are all here for the taking. If only my ego would let me take it all in. In the meantime, I'll keep listening.

If you're sensitive you'll really know it. If you're not then this CD will help you to start to be.

I bought this years ago off Amazon, listened to it and thought it was just OK.

Since first listening to it I have read lots and lots and lots as well as listened to many different teachers. And it is only now that I am begining to appreciate how good this CD is.

Eckhart gently transports you into your own being, with much warmth and humour in the process.

Really nice.

This CD provides an opportunity to journey deeper into a deeper understanding of the principles as put forth in The Power of Now. I would recommend taking time to put all else away and just be with the CD as Tolle teaches. Before I knew it, great insights and a definite sense of knowing came forth as I listened. He guides you through learning to listen with the entire body- the energy field- and that is a practice that truly brings on into the present. I thoroughly recommend this CD.

I am a HUGE Eckhart Tolle fan and longtime student of his work. This particular 2-cd set is one of my very favorites, As an animal lover I adore listening to his section about animals and what amazing teachers they are. This particular set is very deep and I have gotten more from it each time I listen to it. He actually leads you through enlightenment exercises...ahhh, thank you, Eckhart!

I've listened to other Tolle audiobooks and this one is very weak. Don't buy this, it's a waste of your money. The audiobook is simply a recording (and a very poor one at that) of a partial section of a live workshop. The content does not flow like his other professionally produced a-books. In addition, the microphone is too close and you hear every breath and guteral sound (very annoying).

I really loved Power of Now, but this is junk. Shame on Tolle for hustling his faithful customer base with this garbage.

This approach to self-realization is very direct, powerful, and most effective. Buy the book and you won't regret it!
