GAVIN RAE is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the American University of Cairo, Egypt.

More About the Author

Gavin Rae is an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy department at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. He works on the history of post-Kantian philosophy and, more specifically, the relationship between ontology and politics within and from this history. To this end, he has authored two books, Ontology in Heidegger and Deleuze (2014) and Realizing Freedom: Hegel, Sartre, and the Alienation of Human Being (2011), as well as numerous articles on post-Kantian philosophy. He is currently working on a book on the relationship between sovereignty and law as thought through the relationship between politics and ethics.
