Sally hates to have her mother fix her beautiful long hair, but when she lets it get all snarled, a passing kite gets caught in it and carries Sally and her dog Tangles away on an adventurous flight.
I was lucky to have grown up in the country where every day was an adventure. There was a creek full of suckers; pastures full of cows and fields full of hay and corn. Best of all there was a chicken coop which had been gutted and then filled with the remains of a one-room schoolhouse. This included desks, chalkboards, and boxes of books. My cousins and I spent hours in that old coop-playing, pretending, reading books-and in my case-writng. My favorite authors remain Laura Ingalls Wilder and Louisa May Alcott.
My heartwarming Christmas story for adults entitled, "The Reindeer Keeper" was released October, 2010. It continues to receive great reviews from readers and reviewers and was honored as a "Mom's Choice Awards Gold Recipient in Adult Fiction" in August, 2011.
I've been published in Highlights For Children, McCall's, Ladies' Home Journal, and the Chicken Soup for the Soul book entitled, "Christmas Magic" (10/11). In March, 2012, my short story, "A Brown Boy of Our Own", will be included in the Chicken Soup for the Soul book, "Family Caregivers." My story, "Over Coffee" was published as an eKindle book, 12/10 and my short story, "Sleigh Bells Ring Again" was included in the Christmas ekindle book collection, "Christmas Warmth."
I've written/illustrated three children's picture books centered around my original character, Snarly Sally.
