I really don't know what the previous listener heard but this CD is very good. There is no club music here. Denetria, you did a very good job.

Just tuned in to see DeNetria Champ on Oprah Winfrey's Legends Awards - what an awesome talent!! I see why Oprah Winfrey loves Denetria Champ!

WOW!!! If you don't have this album you have to go get it!!! It is off the chain!!!!!! The duet between w/ Vanessa Bell Armstrong "GO ON THROUGH IT" is BANANNASSSSSSSSS!!!!!! The two powerful voices together and the messege of the song definately encourages you through whatever your going through. Then on the song "WHEN GOD GETS THROUGH WITH ME" it is almost mind boggling how much she sounds like ARETHA FRANKLIN...she even does a little tribute to one of Aretha's songs at the end...brilliant!

I guess because I am a musician myself...I always look to see who the production team is. No team... just a guy named JASON WHITE of WhiteThrone Productions!!!!!!!!!!!! This cat is AMAZING!!!!! I have heard him on some other stuff like Kurt Carr & Norman Hutchins but he took his sound to another level on this one!!!! Then I found out he can sing too!!! He is singing background vocals on the funky groove "CAN'T FORGET"....one of my favorites.

Last but not least...MY FAVORITE SONG on the whole cd is the title cut "I REALLY LOVE YOU" if there are any true worshipers looking for a love ballad to the Lord...look no further!!! Everytime I listen to this song I end up on my face!!! I don't know where those background singers came from but they are sangin!!!!! You can feel the anointing and passion in their singing. The credits say it's a group called The "A" Team. At first I thought how arrogant of them..but when I heard the background vocals.....well you will just have to hear them for yourself.........AWESOME!!!!

I love this album because it is TIMELESS. It is not trendy...it has substance and will be around for years to come. Denetria's voice and stlye is something that you will never get tired of. This album has truly blessed me....I encourage everyone to go get it!!!!!

I heard the cd at a friends house and was taken by her voice. I thought it was someone trying to be Aretha. I was pleasently suprised when I heard an individual and not another copy cat. Not to mention her ministry captivated me. I recommend this cd highly.

I attended a church in Los Angeles on Hoover Street, and Denetria and her sister attended there as well. This was the 1980's and early 90's.

She has ALWAYS, ALWAYS, been a dynamic soulful singer. You guys are hearing it for the first time, but imagine hearing it live, and in church. Her sister is just as fabulous. I remember when people thought she was crazy because she sang so much, and wanted to sing all the time. Nobody wanted to give her a chance.

I am extremely glad and proud for her. I'll buy anything she records! God speed Denetria!

I attended Junior High School with Denetria, she was singing then and she's still singing. This album is wonderful, and I am looking forward to hearing her future projects.

I was so moved by Oprah's Legends Ball Special - it was great to see O acknowledging these great women of color!! An added benefit for me was discovering DeNetria Champ who I saw for the first time on the Legend Special - oh my goodness, what talent!!!

Oprah seems to have a knack for discovering great talent before everyone else and after seeing her brief performance on TV, I did a search and bought her CD - excellent, excellent, excellent!!! I am looking for big things from DeNetria Champ - a voice like hers doesn't come along very often!

I highly recommend this C.D. its the best ever, every song on this C.D. is good its worth every penny.Her voice is amazing.

DENETRIA CHAMP IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! I was driving down the road listening to the radio when I heard this VOICE. I thought... when did ARETHA do another gospel CD? Then I heard Vanessa Bell Armstrong - I almost had a wreck (I love Vanessa Bell). I was completely shocked when I found out that it wasn't Aretha but DeNetria Champ. THIS GIRL IS A FLAT-FOOTED SINGER!!! From the churchy call and response with Vanessa Bell to the unbelievable "DeNetria's Church Medley", I AM TRULY SPEECHLESS. A SINGER LIKE DENETRIA CHAMP ONLY COMES ALONG ONCE IN A LIFETIME. From listening to her whole album, I don't limit her to just gospel. She sings it all! The ballad "I Really Love You" is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL and should be played on R&B and Pop radio. And the club dance track "Say The Word" is definitely bumping (someone told me this is the same singer named Chance who had a club hit "Rise Up"???). Even though she is obviously influenced by the Queen of Soul and Vanessa Bell, SHE HAS HER OWN STYLE and is one of the most versatile singers we've heard in a very long time!! Her voices soars like an eagle and then drops down to a whisper and her interpretive abilities are uncanny. The word "GREAT" is so overused today but trust me when I tell you DeNetria Champ has the music world buzzing. SHE'S THE REAL DEAL!!!!

The first time I heard DeNetria singing, I honetly thought it was Aretha Franklin belting away. But then there was something youthful and modern about her vocal styling that made me know it had to be someone else.
This cd is a must have for someone who appreciates gospel music, especially modern gospel with old skool flava.
She obviously sat at the feet of Aretha and took in as much as she could. And it paid off!
