Editorial Reviews

Review

An ambitious new look at an old tale of deception crisply told, with rich imagery and an ear for dialogue. Emery provides something for everyone, allowing even the most skeptical to get caught up in the interwoven tales of political intrigue, science fiction, and the human condition. We ve all asked the question, Why are we here? After reading In the Realm of Eden, we may not like the answer. -- Elise Warner, Editorial Producer, New York

Bob Emery's Realm of Eden is full of taut excitement and a wonderful story line; it makes for a fabulous read. I could not put it down until it was finished. I would look for the next volume in this hopefully serial adventure. If I published books instead of media, I'd have jumped on this great novel. -- Michael Bennett, President, TMW Media Group

Eden is an action-packed, sci-fi adventure that looks outside our planet and sees the nature of the beast within. It was an exciting ride, an enchanting and suspense-filled journey with a nail-biting race between rogue government agents after an out of this world visitor and a young White House aide on the run. Eden reaches for the stars and delivers a fantastic and gripping earthbound adventure. . . the vivid characters spring to life. -- Michael Sarcona, Television Producer, New York

“In the Realm of Eden is an extraordinary suspenseful page turner by an author who possesses an unusual but insightful understanding of the human condition. The challenge for readers will be to keep from putting it down before they reach the startling and totally unexpected ending. A really clever novel from a writer with vision! This is a thriller and should be a major motion picture.”  -- Tom Garrett, Professor, Film Media Arts, University of Tampa

“A terrific mix of Michael Crichton and Jeffrey Deaver. In the Realm of Eden is a wire-taut political thriller, with danger all the way, a fascinating cast, and a breathless ending.” -- James Thayer, Author

“From Flores Island, Indonesia, and the deep jungles of New Guinea, to the White House and the sands of Arizona, In the Realm of Eden will shock and surprise. A riveting and frightening chase and a finale that is astonishing and unsettling and just might be a prediction of things to come. A great story.” -- Richard O. Jacobs, Attorney, and author of Crash Landing

5.0 out of 5 stars Foreign or Alien Affairs?, April 18, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
Robert gets this story off to a start with John Sutton, when out for his daily jog, spots a flash in the distance. Little did he know that when he went over to the area where the flash originated, he would alter the course of history forever.

The story really gets going when Ruben Cruz, the presidents chief of staff, is asked by a friend to come down to an old chemical plant in Arizona. When Ruben arrives, he is in for the shock of his life and a journey he is not about to ever forget. Throughout this novel we meet a lot of very likable characters and some that we are not sure about. The last one hundred pages are packed with action and adventure that make this a fun thought provoking read.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's political intrigue, wrapped in suspense, inside a sci-fi thriller!, April 28, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
A jogger finds something shiny in a field... Scientists find something strange in an Indonesian dig site... A new President in difficult times... Questionable dealings in the highest levels of government... This is some timely stuff! More than once, I had to stop reading, just to consider the relevance of what a character had said, to our own reality, both present and recent past. In The Realm Of Eden is political intrigue, wrapped in suspense, inside a sci-fi thriller! When a cross-country pursuit ensues, it's a real "make-the-time-to-read-it-all" page-turner! I can't wait for a sequel! In The Realm Of Eden is a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Page Turner, February 20, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
Author Robert J. Emery's novel, In the Realm of Eden, fooled me. I thought maybe it was a straight forward SCI FI fantasy story, but it's not. It is more than that--much more. In the beginning the author laid down a crooked road map that made me wonder where in the world he was going. He was methodical in presenting details that would later come together. Then, all of a sudden, there it was and it never stopped with its constant twists and turns and totally unexpected, mind-blowing ending. This might be the first time I've read a book that involves an Extraterrestrial that is treated like he's was one of us, even though he bears absolutely no resemblance to humans. I don't want to give too much away except to say the story is as current as today and as relevant to our present lives to the point of being scary. Read this one for the pure pleasure of a well crafted story with interesting characters and a plot that is as fresh as any I have read.
