5.0 out of 5 stars Foreign or Alien Affairs?, April 18, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
Robert gets this story off to a start with John Sutton, when out for his daily jog, spots a flash in the distance. Little did he know that when he went over to the area where the flash originated, he would alter the course of history forever.

The story really gets going when Ruben Cruz, the presidents chief of staff, is asked by a friend to come down to an old chemical plant in Arizona. When Ruben arrives, he is in for the shock of his life and a journey he is not about to ever forget. Throughout this novel we meet a lot of very likable characters and some that we are not sure about. The last one hundred pages are packed with action and adventure that make this a fun thought provoking read.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's political intrigue, wrapped in suspense, inside a sci-fi thriller!, April 28, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
A jogger finds something shiny in a field... Scientists find something strange in an Indonesian dig site... A new President in difficult times... Questionable dealings in the highest levels of government... This is some timely stuff! More than once, I had to stop reading, just to consider the relevance of what a character had said, to our own reality, both present and recent past. In The Realm Of Eden is political intrigue, wrapped in suspense, inside a sci-fi thriller! When a cross-country pursuit ensues, it's a real "make-the-time-to-read-it-all" page-turner! I can't wait for a sequel! In The Realm Of Eden is a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Page Turner, February 20, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
Author Robert J. Emery's novel, In the Realm of Eden, fooled me. I thought maybe it was a straight forward SCI FI fantasy story, but it's not. It is more than that--much more. In the beginning the author laid down a crooked road map that made me wonder where in the world he was going. He was methodical in presenting details that would later come together. Then, all of a sudden, there it was and it never stopped with its constant twists and turns and totally unexpected, mind-blowing ending. This might be the first time I've read a book that involves an Extraterrestrial that is treated like he's was one of us, even though he bears absolutely no resemblance to humans. I don't want to give too much away except to say the story is as current as today and as relevant to our present lives to the point of being scary. Read this one for the pure pleasure of a well crafted story with interesting characters and a plot that is as fresh as any I have read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suspense, intrigue and more!, February 17, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
This book creates intriguing suspense from the very beginning and keeps you completely engaged and wanting to turn to the next page the entire way through. It reads with the details and style of a "Grisham" book with interesting twists and turns that keep you guessing to the very last page and words. From the Whitehouse to the extra-terrestrial sci-fi elements, it is terrific read that I highly recommend. It will leave you re-considering life as you know it. Enjoy!

"I read IN THE REALM OF EDEN and I was fascinated by author Robert Emery's take on our present world. His insight into the human condition was reviting and kept me turning page after page until the very end, an ending I did not see coming, which makes me hope he writes a sequel. You won't anticipate some of the cleaver twists and turns until they happen and that makes for exciting reading. His characters are real and his dialogue written the way people really speak. I highly recommend this book."

This book is awesome! This book came highly recommended to me by a friend and I am glad I got it. I couldn't put the book down, every chapter is more intriguing than the next. The story line is great, it keeps you guessing all the way to the end. I was skeptical about reading a book about an alien, however I am glad I did. I highly recommend this book even if you are not a sci-fi fan and for sci-fi fanatics it is a MUST!

This is a good book! I would normally not purchase a book on extraterrestrials but this one came highly recommended. I am glad I purchased this book. It has a great story line and is very interesting. It keeps you wondering and guessing what the next chapter will hold and you look forward to reading it. It makes you think about our consequences for the way we treat our Earth and each other. I have recommended it to many of my friends and family and can't wait until they finish it so we can discuss it. It is just "one of those books" you have to talk about. I strongly urge others to read it. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A clever page-turner, April 14, 2009
This review is from: In the Realm of Eden (Hardcover)
This is a good read! In the Realm of Eden explores a wondrous subject we all ponder: the mysteries of the universe and our place in it. It is an intelligent blending of fact and fantasy that hooks you and makes you think. White House Chief of Staff Rubin Cruz is drawn into a drama that moves between Washington D.C., a secret research lab, and a tropical jungle. After he makes the acquaintance of a charming extraterrestrial with the gift of repartee, he struggles to make sense of the situation and to make the right decisions. The plot is fast-paced, exciting--and most important of all--believable. Robert Emery has written a stylish story that leaves you hoping for a sequel.
