4.0 out of 5 stars Despite a Pretentious Title, This is a Keeper..., January 10, 2005
This review is from: Reap of the Lost Dreamers (Audio CD)
Somewhat progressive sans dominant and overbearing keyboards with a dollop of lyte sike, Companion's sole album consists of ten pleasant, somewhat dreamy and ethereal cuts.

Immediately manifest, even during an initial spin, are consistency of material and the vocals. Tracks are similar in texture and flow nearly seamlessly almost as if the album is a related suite of songs. Though not necessarily peccant, this may be considered a turn-off for some listeners. The Child Goes On is representative of the album's constitution.

Brit Warner's vocals are perhaps the most striking aspect of the Companion LP. It's difficult to imagine anyone not taking notice and/or being impressed with the manner in which her vocals are an exquisite fit with the fabric of the material.

This is, by no means, a killer but it is pleasant and avoids decay into saccharine nausea. If heavenly female vocals and moving melodic songs perk interest, add Reap the Lost Dreamers to your list of future spins.
