5.0 out of 5 stars Joseph McGee is a Master of Horror.
Another impeccable work of genius from Joseph McGee. THE REAPER is deliciously intriguing, an addictive page turner that will leave you wanting more.

2.0 out of 5 stars What happened?
This book was moving along quite nicely for about half the length. And then things got weird. The story of David trying to solve the mystery around Maggie's death is abruptly dropped and then replaced with several chapters of Reaper slayings that I couldnt really connect to the main story.

Too bad, the premise couldve easily stood alone as a full length...

5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent tale from McGee...don't pass this one up!, September 2, 2008
This review is from: The Reaper (Paperback)
Joseph McGee's spine-tingeling storytelling is captured again in the form of a terrifying thriller. Superb diction and character details create a landscape of horror that guides the reader to new plateaus of frightful fascination. Keep a light on while reading this one...

2.0 out of 5 stars What happened?, April 28, 2011

This book was moving along quite nicely for about half the length. And then things got weird. The story of David trying to solve the mystery around Maggie's death is abruptly dropped and then replaced with several chapters of Reaper slayings that I couldnt really connect to the main story.

Too bad, the premise couldve easily stood alone as a full length IMO. The author painted a very chilling picture and I found myself checking down shadows in my living room from time to time.

All in all a wasted effort unless this is supposed to be part of a series or something.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yup, never got this one either!, January 7, 2009
This review is from: The Reaper (Paperback)
Again, I wish I could write a knock-out review on this book, but Amazon sent me two totally different books than I'd ordered; my name on lable, but inside were the books and someone elses invoice. WTH??? They did pay for me to ship them back, but never sent replacements.
