If you are starting or even you are an expert with synths, this is a very nice an helpful book to be always with you.Very comprehensive guide, will introduce you in the art of making music using Reason 4.The author did a very good work here because he teaches and makes you exercise, almost all the major features in Reason's software.
So add it right now in your shopping cart....you won't regret it.

This is an excellent addition to the writers original text. The step by step chapters gives hands on discriptions of the path to follow. A must have for understanding this technical information.

This book is excellent in getting straight into the thick of making songs without getting too technical. Very easy reading and especially all the examples are clearly marked with numbers referencing what he is explaining. I love it.

If you are new to Reason 4 then you just have to buy this book!!

The Author takes each of Reason's devices and walks you through simple exercises which takes you from a novice to a competent user! Once I started reading I couldn't put it down and worked through the entire book in a single day - a fully rewarding read - now I'm ready to make some music!!

I'm a lapsed musician. I played piano and played in the band in school, but I haven't had much time with work and kids to really play musically. Well, I recently got a decent midi keyboard and a copy of Reason to see what I could do.

I really have no experience with synths or electronic music, and while I worked with a very basic rack for recording, it was many years ago and I'd forgotten everything. That's why I was so impressed with this book. It gets you in and doing stuff. The author explains things clearly, and while I'm sure we're just scratching the surface, I'm miles ahead of where I started. The key thing is that the exercises get you actually using and understanding some of the features and concepts of Reason (and electronic music in general; I now understand ADSR). Once you've tried an example, the way is clear to experiment with the concept, and the sky's the limit.

I'm very impressed with this book and very pleased with what I've learned. Highly, highly recommended.

New to this type of music making and Ignite walks you through step by step. Well written, easy to understand and well illustrated. Highly recommend for new users!

This book taught me more in the first 30 minutes than any other reference on Reason. Each chapter introduces you to various instruments with the sequencer, and starts with a blank slate, and shows you how to quickly build up synths / tracks / effects.

Most of the exercises have you load an instrument and init the patch, so you start with a simple tone or sample, and build on it. This provides for a great learning experience.

The reason I like this book so much over others is because of the hands-on lessons, and the simple, visual format. My only gripe is that I wish I could find this book in PDF format, b/c it is kind of a pain to navigate between the text and the computer all the time. I highly recommend this book if you are trying to learn Reason.

This book really is great for those that appreciate a more step-by-step approach to learning a new platform. The Ignite series, in general, is very well laid-out and the author here makes it really fun and easy to dive right in and make it happen.

This is visual book that teaches basic fundamentals through showings pics and exercises. The pictures are very helpful especially if you never used Reason before.

Very good and easy to understand book , show us through the pratice every " how to make " in this software !
