How could an 18 year-old, aspiring veterinarian turn into a fleeing fugitive? Mark Anthony not only tells you, but shows you how in his latest release, Reasonable Doubt. Katrina Easley, of North Carolina, attended NYU to pursue her dreams. She was a naïve introvert who lacked self-confidence and never felt she fit in anywhere. When she met Dwight `Snipes' Abrams, he became the missing link she needed to become `that' girl. Gradually sacrificing her educational goals to spend time with drug-dealing Snipes, Katrina ignored her voice of reason; her loyalty to him had too strong of a hold. Even when he became abusive, Katrina's naïveté made her rationalize and dismiss his actions. When love caused her to cross state lines with a package for him, the game changed and she was not aware that any such game even existed. It was not until her brief stint behind bars that she understood the gravity of her situation yet was still confused about what she had done wrong. Would Katrina's relentless loyalty to Snipes cause her to ride-or-die for him? Or would that same spirit drive her over the brink of insanity?

Reasonable Doubt was a good, yet familiar, read. It captured the essence of what young, naïve women go through when they truly do not know better. The storyline is familiar if you know anything about Kemba Smith's real life situation. This is the type of novel that will literally place you in another person's shoes and widen your perceptions of the other side of situations. Mark Anthony fans who have enjoyed his way with words will appreciate another well-written novel if they pick up Reasonable Doubt. I loved it and would rate it a five had the author acknowledged this story was based on Kemba Smith's life-story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Based on a true Story..Excellent book, March 23, 2011
This review is from: Reasonable Doubt (Paperback)
This was a excellent book. I didn't want to put the book down. Mark Anthony never disappoints. Upon reading this book it reminded of true case I heard of some years ago so I Googled it. The real Woman's name is Kemba Smith Pradia. Everybody should look up her story and you will see this book is loosely based on her life story. So when some of you say the girl in the book was too dumb and nobody could of gotten them self in this, think again. Excellent book and amazing real story.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Know Love is Blind but Dayum!!!!!! (4.5 Stars), June 16, 2008

This review is from: Reasonable Doubt (Paperback)
In 6 months Katrina Easley goes from a freshman at NYU to a fugitive on the run. Was it her strict upbringing, low self esteem, naivety, love of the wrong man or just plain ignorance that led her to this predicament? Author Mark Anthony spins a captivating and at the same time cautionary tale about what happens to females that are down for their man whether willingly or unwillingly.

At several points throughout the book I thought that no woman could be this dumb! But after finding out that Reasonable Doubt is loosely based on a true story I knew that Mr. Anthony hit a home run with this one. Young women need to know that although love may be blind the justice system isn't, even if she appears to be wearing a blindfold! Reasonable Doubt is definitely recommended reading and yet another smash hit for Mr. Anthony.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lessons Learned, March 5, 2008
This review is from: Reasonable Doubt (Paperback)
Katrina Easely is from a small town in North Carolina. She is just starting her freshman year at New York University and is trying to adjust to life in the big city with her roommate Candace. Katrina soon has a chance meeting with a mysterious man named Snipes. Katrina is instantly smitten by Snipes and rushes into a relationship with him despite her roommate Candace's warning about his questionable lifestyle. Blinded by the fast money, cars, and designer clothes, Katrina becomes Snipes' ride-or-die chick causing her to drop out of school in the middle of her freshman year. Things really spin dangerously out of control when Snipes shoots a cop causing him and Katrina to be on the run. Will Katrina be able to get out of this mess and have a normal life again?

Reasonable Doubt is a thought-provoking tale by Mark Anthony. Anthony eloquently told a story of how a naive young woman with a promising future can be lead down the wrong path by a devious man. The character development in this story was simply wonderful. You can clearly see how Katrina blindly trusted Snipes in the beginning of their relationship because she simply didn't know any better. You also see how Katrina had to learn some tough life lessons in being in this toxic situation. One of the biggest lessons in this story is that there is a definite price to pay when women decide to be in relationships with men like Snipes. The temporary money and designer clothes may seem nice but at cost are you willing to pay for this lifestyle? Another main focus of this story is how unfair the minimum sentencing law is in this country. Readers should take note of the valuable lessons in this novel. This story grabs you from the first page and doesn't let you go until the very end. Reasonable Doubt is emotionally charged and insightful. Mark Anthony has a definite winner on his hands.

This review is from: Reasonable Doubt (Paperback)
Mark Anthony is the man!! He has not disappointed me yet with his books. They are so good that I can not put them down until I reach the last page. It's amazing how much Katrina was clueless to a lot of thing. But, she learned in the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Reason To Be That Naive!! (token), November 10, 2008
This review is from: Reasonable Doubt (Paperback)
I would have to start off saying, how good this book was. Mark Anthony did an excellent job in Reasonable Doubt. A young girl name Katrina comes from a little town to the big city of New York and get taught a valuable lesson in life by a shark name Snipes. This story is true to life, it will keep you on the edge of your seat without a doubt. This is my second book I have read by this author and I see he's doing big things with the pen. Without a reasonable doubt I will confirm that Mr. Anthony will entertain and teach a lesson in this story all at once.

This book was very well written and in my opinion is one of his best novels..For awhile I had no sympathy for Katrina..I just couldnt understand how someone could be so blind to alot of things and allow a man to bring her that far down..But this kind of stuff really does happen in real life, and eventually I did feel sorry for her.The ending was great and I have to say that this is a must read. And parents please dont shelter your kids so much, because when they do grow up and get a taste of freedom..This is the kind of ish that can happen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Young , Dumb and Naive...., May 18, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Reasonable Doubt (Paperback)
Katrina Easley is new to New York and NYU. Katrina is a country girl and is happy to be away from North Carolina and her protective parents. So when she meets Dwight "Snipes" Abrams she is sprung. Snipes is a hustler, with a serious mean streak, who tricks Katrina into thinking he is an "insurance salesman".
Young, dumb and naive Katrina buys this bull hook, line and sinker. Soon Katrina finds herself messing up at school, doing drugs, partying all night and lots more things that she is too naive to realize.
Soon Katrina and Snipes are on the run, as a result of Snipes many crimes.
This was a great read, at many points in the book I could not believe how IGNORANT Katrina was. Unfortunately there are many young women who are falling for these types of men everyday. No good can come of it.
Great job Mark!
