I read Reasonably Raw in the fall of 2008. I am not and have never been a vegan or against eating processed foods or animals. However, I was open to read about why people may want to take those foods out of their diet. Growing up fruits and vegetables have always been 50% of my diet so I wasnt against the idea of raw eating. As a daily gym rat I was interested to see what the book would discuss about protein and supplements. After reading I was impressed and decided to try some of the smoothie recipes. I also found some recipes on "youtube". I started doing smoothies for 6 months twice a day. Since that time I lost fifteen pounds along with excercise. In a quest to challenge myself I reread the book and the 12 steps to raw food, really helped me to take the next step to commit to raw food for 35 days. I am on day 7 and have lost seven pounds. This book has too much great information to share in one review. It has changed my mind and body! It's well worth the read!!

I finished this book within 2 days. It's a super easy read and above all, life changing!
This is an educational, enlightening book that delves into the world of raw foods. It puts America's perspective of what our government, food industry and drug industry deems as 'healthy' and 'balanced' and flips it upside down.
Frank takes you on a journey through various native cultures who flourish in health and years due to the raw and natural diet of their native land. He constantly references other authors and books for additional reference and reading, which helps make this book extremely easy to read without being an overwhelming dump of information. This book will open up your eyes to all the benefits of eating raw.
The recipes that are included in the book are really fun and easy to make... and most of all, delicious! Just like Frank says, the best way to start is to incorporate a green smoothie in your diet eveyday for breakfast, then suddenly, your body really does start to crave what it was made to consume, all the natural goodness of raw foods.
Thanks to this book, I will be keeping my diet 80-90% raw ... which to me, seems reasonable!

In this aptly titled book, Ferendo gives an overview of some of the main theories and approaches to raw foods, and emphasizes the best elements from each.

An excellent guide for the 'raw curious' or anyone embarking on a raw food diet. It is both informative and inspirational.

Several of the authors insights are spot on, and I particularly found the discussion of the influence of food manufacturers on our perceptions of what humans should and shouldn't eat.

I've read many raw food books, and would rate this as one of the top 3 or 4.
