This review is from: 115 Reasons Why It's Not Your Fault If You're Fat (Kindle Edition)
With the obesity blame game in full force, it's refreshing to discover 115 REASONS WHY IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT IF YOU'RE FAT. Bob Wieder has been attentively following this issue for many years as a health columnist at CalorieLab.com and what he has discovered is that people aren't getting fat because of all the typical reasons that have been bantered about by the media and so-called health 'experts' over the years. It's much more complex than pointing the finger at genetics, culture, public school, lifestyle, Big Food, technology, the government, or whatever. An irreverent and eye-opening read!-- Jimmy Moore, health blogger/podcaster "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb" http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com

Good for a laugh and a hard think,
This review is from: 115 Reasons Why It's Not Your Fault If You're Fat (Kindle Edition)
As someone in the humor business, I'm sure Robert Wieder is aware that fat jokes are still considered politically correct, no matter how hurtful to a "growing" number of Americans (and Samoans). This book is a great opportunity for the obese American to laugh at himself or herself. The book is humorously divided into major cause categories: It's Your Mom's Fault, It's Biology's Fault, It's Your Family's Fault, It's Your School System's Fault, It's Your Location's Fault, It's Other Fat People's Fault, It's Society's Fault, It's Your Lifestyle's Fault, It's Your Job's Fault, It's the Auto Industry's Fault, It's the Chemical Industry's Fault, It's the Food and Beverage Industries' Fault, It's Electronic Technology's Fault, It's the Ad Industry's Fault, It's Capitalism's Fault, It's the Government's Fault, It's God's Fault, It's the Fault of Demographics, It's Your Environment's Fault, It's the Fault of People Who "Just Want to Help" You, and When No Other Explanation Seems to Apply to Your Situation ... The science, sociology, mechanics and demographics of these topics have been carefully researched; the author uses no guesswork of his own. There's an incredible bibliography at the back of the book. Each category is divided into smaller snippets of easily digestible information. The book is well-written, fun, spelled correctly, and grammatically perfect. All I can say is that in a culture where people love to take less and less responsibility for their actions and situations, this book is perfectly timed for the obese fault-finder. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a reviewer for the website www.thekindlebookreview.com, and was given a free copy of this book for review purposes. I am completely unaffiliated with either the author or the publisher. -- Java Davis (Kindle Book Review)

A Refreshingly Humorous Look at Obesity,

This review is from: 115 Reasons Why It's Not Your Fault If You're Fat (Kindle Edition)
Robert S. Wieder has written a very funny book about the issue of obesity. Basically he explains all the reasons why it is absolutely not your fault that you are overweight. While you are laughing your head off you will actually learn some great tips. Like sleeping in total darkness may help you lose weight. Also you may want to reconsider that yoga class since evidence shows it lowers your body's metabolic rate. There are also some interesting facts like how overweight people have a "much more powerful sense of smell." The author also talks about the evils of potatoes especially when deep fried and explains why you may want to get rid of your microwave. While reading this book I lost track of how many times I laughed out loud. Laughing burns calories right? This book may then even help you lose some weight. ~The Rebecca Review

Robert S. Wieder is a HUMOR writer. HUMOR. And this book is funny. I don't think it was intended to show you how to shed your lbs.

There's a sucker born every minute, and I qualify as one of them due to the purchase of this book. It is precisely as it says, a listing of 115 reasons you could blame factors other than yourself for your excess weight. Well, great! Consider me instructed, but I harbored the small hope that there would be more in the way of suggestions for how you successfully counter those intrinsic or external drivers. I don't see any of that in this book. I think rather than buying this book, you would be better served by reading the posts on the CalorieLab site which are very informative.
