Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

The paperback publication of the country music star's autobiography coincides with the release of her new album.
Copyright 1995 Reed Business Information, Inc.

From the Publisher

Her songs--honest, plainspoken stories of women's lives today--have struck such a deep chord in her fans that she has become the top-selling female country recording artist of the decade. Now with that same straightforward honesty, Reba McEntire tells the phenomenal story of one woman... Reba: My Story.

From her childhood in Oklahoma working cattle with her ranching family to her days on the rodeo competition circuit, from her early days as a performer in honky-tonks to her many awards and a sold-out appearance at Carnegie Hall, Reba relates her experiences with heartfelt emotion and down-to-earth humor. With the same warmth and generous spirit that infuses her music, she introduces us to the most important people in her life: the family and friends who sustain her and the musicians and producers who have inspired her and helped her realize her artistic vision. With great poignancy, she also recounts the lowest points in her life, the breakup of her first marriage and the plane crash that took the lives of eight of her band members; and the highest, her remarriage and the birth of her son Shelby. Her story is not only a chronicle of a rearkable life but a vivid testament of unshakable determination and faith in god. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is THE book!!, May 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Reba: My Story (Mass Market Paperback)
For anything you want to know about Reba's life, this IS the book to read. I was not fond of country music of any kind, until I read this book. Now, I am a HUGE Reba McEntire fan..one of the biggest, because I gained enormous respect for her for bringing the truth out to all her fans. This book is funny, sad, sometimes surprising...but always well written, straight from the heart. You will enjoy this book, and the audio is great too because she reads it herself! I highly reccommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a wonderful story worth listening to!, January 23, 1998

This review is from: REBA MY STORY (Audio Cassette)
So you want to get to know Reba? These tapes are a great way to start. They are a shortened version of her autobiography (also a must read), and the best part is she narrates herself. Reba has lots of heartbreaking, hilarious, and amazing stories to tell. From her early life, to the rise of her career, to her divorce and the devastating plane crash that took the lives of 8 of her friends, Reba's matter-of-fact approach keeps you hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honesty, January 22, 2000
By
This review is from: Reba: My Story (Mass Market Paperback)
I appreciate her honesty in this book. She gave not only the pleasant but the unpleasant side of life and situations. The good always has bad to follow and we do what we can with situations. Reba demonstrated this with the format and presentation in the story.
