5.0 out of 5 stars The Sights and Sounds of Coney Island, December 12, 2009
This review is from: Rebecca to the Rescue (American Girl) (Paperback)
Rebecca's 13-year-old brother Victor has his Bar Mitzvah ceremony at the synagogue. In celebration of this important event, their father declares that the family will be going to Coney Island the following day! While there, Rebecca, most of her siblings, and her cousins are sent off to enjoy the day together, with Victor in charge.

Rebecca grows weary of Victor's control over the activities they participate in, so she and her cousin Ana opt to set off on their own, despite being told to stick together. When something unexpected happens, Rebecca feels guilty about breaking the rules and must make a difficult decision.

This is the most magical book in the series. Almost the entire story takes place in one day, so there are many sights and sounds presented. I felt as if I were truly there, experiencing a lovely summer day at historical Coney Island. The historical information in the back is also a very enjoyable read!
