Meet Rebecca Rubin 1914, March 9, 2010
This review is from: Rebecca Story Collection (American Girl) (Hardcover)
"Rebecca's Story Collection" is the story of a Russian-Jewish girl,Rebecca Rubin, living in the Lower East Side of New York City in the year 1914. Through Rebecca's eyes the reader is able to experience the historical/cultural events of 1914: immigration through Ellis Island, the outbreak of World War I,the Jewish celebrations of Shabbos, Hannukah, Passover and Bar Mitzvah, the silent movie era, a trip to Coney Island, sweatshops and labor reform. Jacqueline Dunbar Green has done an excellant job of capturing the essence of the time period in her storytelling. The only negative comment I have is that American Girl did not publish a "Welcome to Rebecca's World 1914, Rebecca's Craft Book or Rebecca's Cook Book" to accompany the storyline as they had done with previous historical American Girl figures. Instead American Girl has published "Rebecca Just for Fun."

I was so pleased when the book arrived. It came in GREAT condition. My daughter, now 10, loves reading the story behind each doll.

LOOK AT THE PRICE! THIS IS NOT A AMAZON ITEM, IT IS BEING SOLD BY OTHERS!, December 5, 2009
This review is from: Rebecca Story Collection (American Girl) (Hardcover)
BE CAREFUL! THIS IS NOT BEING SOLD BY AMAZON YET! It is being sold by others, and they are trying to rip you off!
Take a look at with the other 6 book hardback collections are selling for on Amazon! Even the American Girls website is selling the collection for less!
So, don't get taken, get this on the American Girls web site, or wait for Amazon to sell it themselves.
As for the story, It was jsut as good as all the others, I Started reading them nearly 15 years ago and only found them again recently when I wanted to get them for my little sister. True children's classics.
