The first three books in the Rebekka Franck series by international Best-Selling Author Willow Rose.

BOOK 1 - One, Two ... He is coming for you (REBEKKA FRANCK #1)

Set in the Danish coastal town of Karrebaeksminde, journalist Rebekka Franck returns to her hometown with her six year old daughter. She is trying to escape her ex-husband and starting a new life for her and her daughter, when the small sleepy town experiences a murder. One of the kingdoms wealthiest men is brutally murdered in his summer residence in Karrebaeksminde. While Rebekka Franck and her punk photographer Sune try to cover the story for the local newspaper another murder happens on a high society rich man. Now Rebekka Franck realizes that the drowsy little kingdom of Denmark has gotten its first serial killer and soon a series of dark secrets - long buried but not forgotten - will see the day of light.
One, Two ... He is coming for you is the first book in Willow Rose's mystery-series about the reporter Rebekka Franck and her photographer Sune.

BOOK 2 - Three, Four ... Better lock your door (REBEKKA FRANCK #2)
It was supposed to be a night of fun, pleasure, lust and pain for Susanne Larsen when she agreed to meet with a stranger from a S&M chatroom. She met him for dinner that later led to casual, anonymous sex at the hotel-room at the local inn.
But someone else showed up in the room and suddenly it was no longer a game.

Zeeland Times star-reporter Rebekka Franck and her photographer Sune are covering the case for the news-paper and soon they find themselves deeply involved in a story of terrifying horror and ugly secrets.

BOOK 3 - Five, Six ... Grab your Crucifix (REBEKKA FRANCK #3)

The Priest is a man with a mission from God. He is to help those possessed by evil to finally become free from their stronghold. He has expelled demons for years and had great success.

But there is one demon he never managed to cast out. And that demon has now come back to get him.

Rebekka Franck and Sune are on a vacation in Northern Zeeland when they suddenly find themselves involved in what turns out to be their most horrifying case to this date.

Five, Six ... grab your crucifix is a spine-chilling Scandinavian mystery-novel from the International Bestselling author Willow Rose. It is the third book in her series about the Danish reporter Rebekka Franck.

Willow Rose's Horror Stories from Denmark is a collection of heart-stopping horror short-stories all related to Rebekka Franck and her Danish hometown.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good March 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This box set loses a star only for a little editing problems or perhaps just some small issues in translation. Otherwise the mystery and story is virtually flawless.

2.0 out of 5 stars Franckly No. January 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Before I launch into this review, I'll admit that I didn't get beyond 2/3 the way through the first book in the trilogy so I hear you if you persevered and things got better. The truth is, you shouldn't have to persevere.

There are three main reasons why I gave up and why I've only allocated 2 stars to a genre (European crime) that I traditionally enjoy reading.

Firstly, it's obvious that Ms Rose's first language is not English. It's very fluent, but it's not that of a native and it shows. The standard cure for that involves the use of native-speaking readers and a good editor. Hopefully together they would have picked up on the numerous sentences which either had the same verb, adverb or adjective twice in the same or adjoining sentences, or which included words like 'awhile' (I lost count of how many times I read that one). I could say that it was easy to loose the plot because there were such alot of errors (sic).

Secondly, there were just too many snags. I don't want to spoil the story for those who might enjoy it but the bounds of plausibility were frequently stretched to breaking point in the bit I read. I feared the ending would push them even further and, from the parts of the last two pages that I scanned, it certainly appeared so.

Thirdly, the dialogue was wooden. There was no humour and nothing personal about it - no stumbling, mumbling or fumbling such as real people do all the time. It wasn't 'bad' but it wasn't good enough to make me care about the characters or to feel that they had any depth to them. An example is when a character conveniently gives all the information that our heroine needs. Real people don't do monologues like that nor do they speak coherently and 'completely'.

4.0 out of 5 stars Glad I got the full set July 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a fan of Scandinavian crime and this was an enjoyable set of stories. Rebekka Franck is a journalist separated from her PTSD husband, living with her father and daughter in a small regional town. In each of the novels she investigates serial murders that have taken place ultimately placing herself in danger. Add a little sexual tension between herself and her photographer and a difficult relationship with her daughter and to the mix and you end up with a readable series.

Rarely do I have the urge to to revisit myriad fictional characters I've met in the hundreds of mediocre free Kindle ebooks I've consumed. But I found myself returning to the central character portrayed in the Rebekka Franck Series I'd read last year, four linked short stories are packaged in a (hypothetical) box set.

Star reporter, Rebekka Franck is a compelling central character. A single mother, separated from her PTSD ex-husband, Rebekka leaves the travails of the big city for the idyllic rural life. In an attempt to mend a stormy relationship with her daughter, she moves back to her hometown, only to find herself caught up in a web of horror set in the sleepy coastal village. Rebekka stumbles upon a hot news lead with her punk hacker-photographer boyfriend, replete with serial murders, and a massive political cover-up. When Rebekka gets too close to the source, she becomes a target.

The storyline, set in modern Denmark, considered to be the "happiest country" in Scandinavia, is frightening in its film noir tale of depravity. This horror tale suggests that something indeed is rotten in the State of Denmark.

Danish-American author Willow Rose has a fertile imagination--a la Stephen King, she has a good sense of plot and decent structure, and she has a pretty good grasp of the English language. But punctuation and syntax errors abound. I can forgive the odd misplaced homonym, or the incorrect usage of pronoun, etc. I can even work with holes in the plot, or snags in the storyline. But when she tries to hammer Danish idioms and sayings into English, word-for-word, it throws the reader out of the story. it's too much work to decipher what the author is trying to portray. Not an optimum outcome in a mystery-horror book.
