When I first saw this book, it was recommended in Nylon magazine. By the looks of the cover, I assumed it was a book of great artistic photos with short paragraphs relating the "then" fashion to the "now" fashion. What I got was a more personal look at how the "then" fashion affected not only the "now" fashion, but how they affected the author himself. Filled with pictures of celebrities with few no-name models, this was not what I had expected...but still surprisingly entertaining.

don't judge a book by its cover because the inside of this particular book is MUCH better. Authentic punk style references and perspective, awesome quality, just what I was looking for.

I'm not into fashion books normally, but Keanan's book really rocks! It is written with much heart, authenticity, and love. He's a creative artist and musician, besides being involved in the fashion world. This book was such a fun read too and doesn't make you feel like you're losing IQ points reading about fashion. This book gives us rebels of the world ideas for creating our unique style, a permission slip of sorts to let our freak flags fly!
