5.0 out of 5 stars Truth or Dare?, February 6, 2001
By Kelly (Seattle, Washington) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rebel (Mass Market Paperback)
The seventh installment in the Fearless series is not dissapointing in the least. Once more, Gaia Moore's world comes alive for the reader. _Rebel_ is one whole book basically dedicated to the art of Truth or Dare... fearless style. Mary and Gaia turn the game dangerous and Ed is basically helpless to stop it. Also, a drug dealer from Mary's past comes out and makes his presence known demanding a debt from Mary. _Rebel_ bascially carries on with the grand tradition that the books before it set up. There is Francine Pascal's amazing writing skills combined with her flair for origionality and the usual smattering of well written fight scenes. I'd recommend the Fearless series to any young adult.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good..., May 13, 2001
By Alaria (England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rebel (Mass Market Paperback)
Rebel is the seventh book in Francine Pascal's `Fearless' Series. Gaia Moore is seventeen and, as the title would suggest, is unable to feel fear. When Gaia, Mary and Ed decide to play truth and dare, Gaia shows the lengths she will go to not to reveal the truth. Attempting to make her divulge something about her past, Mary and Ed invent increasingly dangerous dares but soon discover that Gaia will do anything they suggest. Things get worse when Mary is contacted by her ex-dealer. She owes him five hundred dollars and he's given her twenty-four hours to pay up...

One good thing about this book is how different it is to most of the other teen books around. This was the first Fearless title I've read so far, so I can't tell you how it compares to the others, but the characters are realistic and the book is action-packed and fast paced. I'm not sure I'll be reading any future titles in the series - to be honest, I just don't like the characters very much, although that may be due to the fact that I haven't read any of the previous books. Still, this wasn't bad and I read it through in a couple of hours. Overall, four stars and I recommend it to all fans of the Fearless series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth or Dare, just a lil game...right?, August 10, 2001
By "alley_kat" (Alta Loma, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rebel (Mass Market Paperback)
Gaia learns the fun of playing Truth or Dare. Mary and Ed discover that she will ALWAYS do anything they say, including making out with Ed, and streaking a restaurant... Mary's acting funny, because she keeps seeing her old cocaine dealer everywhere. He threatens to kill her if she doesnt pay him the $500 she owes him. Will Mary tell Gaia about Skizz? Will the game of Truth or Dare ever end and will they find something she wont do?

I loooove this one...cause I loooooove Truth or Dare. *grin* But I HATE Skizz...he's a bad, bad person..
