More About the Author

Sometimes fun. Sometimes naughty. Always romantic.

I am a New York Times Bestselling Author writing under the pseudonym Skye Jordan for my more ... sexually heated ... works.

My Skye Jordan novels are all about enjoying that little wild streak we all have, but probably don't let out often enough. About those fantasies we usually don't get the opportunity to indulge. About stretching limits, checking out the dark side, playing naughty and maybe even acting a little wicked. They're about escape and fun and pleasure and romance.

And, yes, even love. Because even as Skye Jordan I'm just a happily ever after kinda gal.

Thanks for reading!

Rubi Russo has issues. She doesn’t trust anyone except her best friend Lexi. She is convinced that she is not relationship material and that if she ever let’s anyone into her heart that she will hurt them or they will walk out on her. She is also convinced that she is unlovable. The girl has major daddy issues! When she meets Wes Lawson he breaks down all of her defenses and she doesn’t know how to cope.

For me this plot was lacking substance. There was no real conflict aside from what was going on in Rubi’s head. She kept telling herself that she couldn’t have a relationship when in fact there was no real obstacle holding her back.

Rebel is the second installment from Skye Jordan’s Renegades series. We met Rubi and Wes in Reckless which was the first installment of the series. That was Jax and Lexi’s story. Rubi is Lexi’s best friend and Wes works for and is friends with Jax who owns Renegades.

The basis of the story has been used in nearly every romance novel . Either the girl, guy, or both have commitment issues and trust issues. They try not to fall in love but can’t help their self when they find that one special person. That’s a great baseline story for a book but it lacks any other real plot, and the story falls flat. Unfortunately I was looking for more to happen.

The first half of this book was mainly Rubi denying being anything more than friends with Wes. She kept going in circles on why she couldn’t have a relationship. I found it to be too repetitive. For me the first half of the story could have been shortened. I found myself getting bored and losing focus. The second half of the story did pick up and I was able to stay engaged and enjoy the rest of the book.

Skye Jordan’s writing is smooth and beautiful.

I liked the first book of this series with Jax and Lexi. I was looking forward to this one because the flirtation between Wes and Rubi seemed like it would be really good. Not so much. Aside from the grammatical errors and typos, Wes and Rubi, what can I say? Wes was a good guy. Caring, loyal, patient, and of course easy on the eyes. Rubi was her own worst enemy. What kind of work was she doing for the stunt company anyway? That didn't make a lot of sense. However, the collaboration between Wes and Rubi on the "rig" to help his brother regain his mobility, that sounded interesting. The early sex scenes felt forced and left me cold (no pun intended). The ice cream idea...I'm not sure how people are finding that an appealing scene. I stayed up to finish the book once the setting moved to Missouri. Rubi's interaction with his family made her seem more human. I'll probably continue to read the series. Who's next? The receptionist and the explosives expert?

Rebel is the 2nd book in the Renegade Series and I loved it as much if not more than the 1st. I fell in love with the sexy banter between Wes and Rubi while reading Reckless, and got exactly what I was hoping for when they got their own book. The Renegades are the stuntmen that work for Jax, they are a rowdy bunch of hot, muscled, adrenaline junkies and I'm hoping we'll get to read about each of them in this series. Skye Jordan is a master with her storytelling, she keeps me glued to my Kindle as I laugh, cry, worry, sigh, and most definitely blush. The steam factor in her books is off the charts.

Rubi is a survivor. She's managed to maintain a single close friendship with her best friend Lexi for the last decade, but she doesn't have any other close relationships. That's the way she likes it, she can be the life of the party; have fun without risk. She is beautiful and can get any man she wants, but she never keeps them longer than one night. Rubi has worked hard building a strong wall around herself, she can't risk letting Wes in. He's the hottest thing she's ever seen, she wants him, but she won't allow herself to have him. Wes has had his eye on Rubi, she's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. She's fearless, an adrenaline junkie like himself, always pushing the speed limits and the boundaries. He sees the fire in her eyes when they flirt. He knows she wants him too, but how can he convince her to take a chance with him? How can he penetrate the fortress she had created to protect herself from being hurt? How can he convince her that he won't abandon her like everyone else in her life has? How can they withstand the heat that is created whenever they are together, without giving into it?

I love how this author writes, the story and dialogue are both fresh, funny, engaging, and I can't wait for the next book. I fell in love with Jax from Reckless, but I've definitely added Wes to my list of book boyfriends as well. He was so patient and willing to work with Rubi on her abhorrence with commitment. And though Rubi tried to push Wes away, she talked herself into giving him a chance, even going so far as to meet his family. With her family issues, this was a huge progressive step in their relationship. I loved how the author showed us in words how Wes and Rubi worked through their own issues, realized what they had to do to make it work, and then moved forward with the consequences. I liked seeing the light bulb go off as they realized something they did or said had hurt the other, then making corrections to fix it. Of course, the secondary characters and seeing Jax and Lexi again was another highlight, plus how Rubi and Wes worked together on a project to help his brother. It was just another way for Wes to worm his way into Rubi's heart. For those wanting to know the heat factor, this book has it all, great foreplay, a little play with ice cream, and how the author describes it all is awesome.
