Editorial Reviews

Since his debut album Entrance in 1970, Edgar Winter has always been a musical visionary, mixing and synthesizing the rock, blues and jazz melodies he hears in his head. The younger brother of guitar legend Johnny Winter, Edgar has been a prolific artist and worldwide superstar. From the mega-hit Frankenstein, to the bluesy classic Tobacco Road, Winter has never been a follower, just a true leader. With his latest release REBEL ROAD, Edgar Winter manages to rock pretty righteously. Beginning with the title Rebel Road, Eye On You, and the ultimate party hit The Power Of Positive Drinking, the band with the help of brother Johnny Winter moves in into the excellent blues scorcher Rockin' The Blues. The album which is painted with highlights from the substantial saxophone & keyboard talents of Winter, not to mention some of his finest singing recalls the best of his work with the Edgar Winter Group. Like They Only Come Out At Night album, this recording includes a pair of haunting ballads, The Closer I Get and Peace And Love. Do It Again, along with Horns Of A Dilemma, showcase Edgar Winter doing what he does best - rocking out with passion and lots of drums and guitar. Welcome back Edgar Winter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Rock and Roll is BACK!, September 20, 2008

When I first played this record I thought it would be another "OK"
record from a great artist, WRONG!!! It is the Rock Album of 2008!!!!!
The title track says it all about the record "Back on then road again" Slash's opening powercords a perfect for this song (Rebel road). This record will have you rocking right out of the gate and doesn't stop. The song "Rocking the Blues" you guest it, None other than Edgars Brother Johnny Winter, doing what he does best,"TEARING IT UP" If you wanted to compare this record to any other Edgar Records start with "They Only Come out at night" or "Shock Treatment".

Thanks Edgar & Company for the best Rock Album of 2008!!!!!

Bettendorf, Iowa

He still has it! Great vocal range and variety of songs and genres. It's refreshing to be able to hear this kind of music with all the crap that's out there these days.
I hope Edgar continues to be blessed with the golden cords he has and wish he and his wife a very happy future.
