Simply put, this is a great CD!.....really not a weak track on it....Edgar's in great voice throughout (as good or better then he has in years).....songs and production are first rate.....the band is *killer*....and he clearly demonstrates his ability to play with musicians across a wide range of generations.....even has a few songs that have what it takes to be big hits!.......COME ON!.....PLAY THIS GUY ON THE RADIO!!!!....with all the crap that's being passed off as music these days *this* is a breath of fresh air!!!....you owe it to yourself to buy this CD!

When I first played this record I thought it would be another "OK"
record from a great artist, WRONG!!! It is the Rock Album of 2008!!!!! The title track says it all about the record "Back on then road again" Slash's opening powercords a perfect for this song (Rebel road). This record will have you rocking right out of the gate and doesn't stop. The song "Rocking the Blues" you guest it, None other than Edgars Brother Johnny Winter, doing what he does best,"TEARING IT UP" If you wanted to compare this record to any other Edgar Records start with "They Only Come out at night" or "Shock Treatment". Thanks Edgar & Company for the best Rock Album of 2008!!!!! Tommy Langford, Bettendorf, Iowa

He still has it! Great vocal range and variety of songs and genres. It's refreshing to be able to hear this kind of music with all the crap that's out there these days.
I hope Edgar continues to be blessed with the golden cords he has and wish he and his wife a very happy future.

Edgar Winter And Guests Deliver The Goods,
By
This review is from: Rebel Road (Audio CD)
On REBEL ROAD, Edgar Winter, working with such guests as his brother Johnny and Slash on guitars, and Clint Black on vocals, delivers real music that's a breath of fresh air in a world full of angst-rock and Hannah Montana. Combining his love of blues and soul with modern sounds and styles, Winter, who's visually impaired, once again proves that a disability doesn't need to be a handicap.

A great effort. I really enjoy the "tough" tracks. There are a couple of "nice" ones included in this set which are not my style, but Edgar obviously enjoys them. Johnny is there as well!

I love Edgar's music, no matter the style, I love his jazzy stuff, especially his bluesy stuff, even the pop stuff is great, but this one beats them all as per my taste. I couldn't believe the pounding blues coming out of ole' Edgar at a time in his career when most people are fading out. Hope there are many more, check out "Horns of....." with Edgar and Clint Black on harmonica!!!!!!!!!

It starts with a kick-butt title song, and the great music doesn't stop until the album is over. There is a varity of music styles, but all are done right. I wish I had found this when it first was released. I feel like I've lost years of enjoyment because I just found out about it. The songs are well written, well played, and well produced. Listen to the words and travel with them to where your head should be. Each song will take you to different places.

Didn't know he was still around until he showed up at a local theater. I immediately bought tickets for my kids as they had been raised with "They Only Come Out At Night". Rick Derringer opened and did some from his Real McCoys days as well as his solo career. Then Edgar came out and took us on a ride. He played a lot of this album and I immediately went out and bought a couple of copies for my kids. Got to love the anthem, "The Power of Positive Drinking".

The CD is well produced with a couple of catchy tunes, but most of them are a little bland and pedestrian. Not enough sax or piano for my liking.
All the years of Edgar's screaming seemingly has finally taken a toll on his voice. He can still sing, but sadly just does not possess the golden throat he once had. I closed my eyes while listening to a couple of the tunes and really could not tell that it was Edgar Winter - bummer. I would probably give the CD a 3, but since it's Edgar I rated it a 4.

Finally....a life saving/transforming shot of rock and roll hootchie coo from the Winter Bros. These two very white very Texas boys have been erupting since they burst upon the scene in the late sixties. I've seen them both live countless times, but of late had lost touch with them. Johnny appeared here in Hawaii last year but I missed his show, was bummed out, but have felt totally rejuvenated by this album....just to be able to "get lost in the rock and roll" once again makes us rock and roll geezers feel alive again
