Roswell Series Book 8 - "The Rebel",
By A Customer
This review is from: The Rebel (Roswell High No. 8) (Mass Market Paperback)
A must read - but only after reading the previous 7 books in the Roswell Series. The Rebel is written in Classic Melinda style. Quick and easy to read and very entertaining. As with all the Roswell books, it is Full of surprising twists, suspense, humour and romance. The Rebel brings Alex back to us and explores the emotions felt and expressed by each group member when Trevor is introduced as Michael's older brother from their home planet. Liz is definately not dealing well with Max's connection with the collective conscienceness and finds comfort in someone elses arms. Melinda ends The Rebel with her usual "cliffhanger". Can't wait till 9 comes out.

A good continuation of the Roswell High saga.,
This review is from: The Rebel (Roswell High No. 8) (Mass Market Paperback)
I didn't think this was as good as the previous Roswell Highbooks, but it still earned five stars, and it's definitley better than the television show. Basically, this book is about Trevor, the older brother Michael never knew about, coming to Roswell from the home planet. Alex, who is back on Earth, doesn't trust Alex - and neither does anyone on the home planet. Meanwhile, Liz and Max are drifting apart, and she turns to Adam for comfort. I reccomend this book if you enjoyed the previous ones, but if you haven't read any others in the series, start with the first book and read the others in order.

Not Just for Teens,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Rebel (Roswell High No. 8) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have totally enjoyed this series. Even though they were written primarily for teens/young adults, it is so well written that adults will enjoy it as well. The fact that the author has most of the action/romance/conflict take place outside of the school helps this I believe. I look forward to the next two and hope that the publisher and author can be talked into more. Now for the book. The Liz/Max break up was upsetting and I hope that they can resolve their problems. Alex returning home was very much welcomed, he was missed. The situation with Kyle has got me waiting eagerly for the next one and I hope that we find out more about Alex's dad involvement with Clean Slate. I was glad that Liz and her parents finally had their discussion and Michael finding out he has a brother was a major throw. All in all, this book was just as consuming and thrilling as the other 7 have been.

but it is true. when a young man starts following michael around, he decides to get to the bottom of it. it turns out thathe is michael's long lost brother.(to go into how would take out a lot of the story line so i won't). isabel and max of course or very suspicious and skeptical. is he wroking with their enemies? what reason do they have to trust him? why is he here in roswell after so many years? for this and more read a very fascinating story. i thought it was great.

Another great book!,
This review is from: The Rebel (Roswell High No. 8) (Mass Market Paperback)
I am a huge fan of the Roswell High books, and this one did not disapoint. It is exciting, funny, shocking...just everything you'd expect from Melinda Metz's great series. One thing that was strange, and kinda creepy was a hook-up w/ two of the characters. I did not like that...but, that's Roswell for ya'--so many different things going on. In a nutshell: This is a great book. Read it! You will not be disapointed! :-)

Well, she's done it again! Created another great book in theRoswell High series, that is. This book was great! It had the humorwe've been missing since book two, and had everything else you need for a great book -- sadness, romance, and of course plenty of SUSPENSE and MYSTERY. Parts of this book made me cry, so be warned!

An Excellent Read!,

The Rebel follows Melinda Metz's wonderful ability to keep the reader hooked. One problem is solved and another begins for the teens. The Rebel is my personal favorite thus far in the series. The eerie presence of the collective consciousness and the struggle between environment versus biological ties were truly mastered. I would reccomend this series to anyone from 12-60. It definitely leaves you wanting more!

Rebel Review,

I'm a huge fan of The Roswell High series. Along with being a big fan of the Michael and Maria relationship. I was excited about this book since on the back cover it talked about Michael and Maria, so I figured there might be some angst in this story. I was pretty wrong. The hole Kevin kidnapping thing didn't even happen until the last 20 pages of the book, and it was resolved really quickly. I was pretty disappointed... Although the fact that I'm such a huge fan of the book series, and my expectations were pretty high. Although I'm now saying that you shouldn't read it if you aren't interested. It was a good story I was just expecting more from it. Like the fact that Alex's return was barely a big deal at all. Well, overall it was a mediocre book.

I think having loyalty and friendship is important like most Michael, Max and Elizabeth are the typical aliens who have no clue that more bad guys are out get them. With Michael finally getting a nice family and trying to fit in ---what's next? Well, then Trevor Michael's brother is in town and Michael feels he has to please him and go the extra mile just to feel good about himself.
While Maria's brother has went missing. Now Maria thinks there after her and she wants Michael to be there.
