Editorial Reviews

Review

"Opens the door upon the inner stages of development along the way toward illumination and liberation. . . As one of the few to take this great ancient tradition seriously, Reed's work deserves praise." (Parabola)

This book is a good book. It kept me from commiting deadly suicide. When I was in a deep crisis I was always keeping this book with me. I finally received my vision and saw the light- seed that Bika Reed talks about in her book"rebel in the soul". Life is about meaning Bika Reed gave me that meaning and saved my life.

The book gives an insight of man connecting with nature(the nature of the donkey) to save his life in times of turmoil.

Please give my deep and sincere thanks to
Bika Reed for all of this.

Peter Jan Koning, Wageningen The Netherlands.

This book presents a full translation of Berlin Papyrus 3024, which relates the story of a man and his "ba" (soul). The author provides a brief explanation at the end of the translation. She believes the text is not just about a man in despair and considering suicide : according to her, this text shows that the Ancient Egyptians knew about the philosophical system long before Plato did ! An interesting speculative book, with a few black and white illustrations, it is mostly recommended for the open-minded and spiritually-oriented readers.

"New Age" thinking is nothing new, after all. Amazing to realize that self questioning, inner analysis of thought, consciousness, mind and soul goes way back to the ancient Egyptians and most likely to the beginning of human thought itself.

This is one of the most engaging books I have read in a long time. The amazing thing about it is that the hieroglyphics were written so long ago, and to see the parallels between that time and our time is amazing. It definitely kept me thinking for a while and got me even more interested into pursuing such books.
