The Good: The main compartment of this bag is deceptively roomy, and the small, but numerous other pockets make organization as easy as it should be. The shoulder straps are comfortable, and weight feels distributed well with even pressure on my back. Side handles are always a nice feature, adding mobility and versatility.

The Bad: The side pockets aren't useless, but If they were an inch longer, they'd be far more useful. The zippers are tough, but the bag came compressed to such a degree that I've had to fight to get the zippers open and closed more than I like to, due in part to the zipper tooth tracks being slightly bent upon arrival. I'm trusting the plastic buckles and clasps that connect the shoulder straps to the pack will last, but I definitely threw some metal replacements in the pack just in case.

Conclusion: You'd be hard pressed to find a better 72-hour Go Bag or camping bag than this for less than $40. No, it's not top of the line, but it's better than functional. Everything I need fits, stays separate and organized, and the bag feels good on the back. That's all I really want from a bag.

P.S. - My bag was sent without a strap. I contacted the company, and they responded quickly. I sent them a picture as explanation, and they apologized and sent me what I needed ASAP. I was very pleased with their curtosy and service.

Based on reviews from other users I purchased this item thinking it would be great. However after opening the package I was disappointed. I immediately began playing with the zippers and found them to be very sticky... to the point I thought I was going to break the expansion zipper if I tried too hard. I know this is a "cheaper" pack, but I didn't expect it to be this bad.

Additionally, I'm not that big of a guy, I wear a size 34 waist and wanted to use the hip/waist buckle for extra support. It barely expanded enough to where I felt comfortable if I had to really use it. The shoulder straps really could have used a bit more padding as well.

Overall, not a great bag. Highly disappointed based on other user reviews.

**edit 27 FEB 2013, The seller Military Gear was great to work with - Great communication and easy to work with. Wouldn't recommend the bag, but I would endorse the seller.

I ordered & received this pack almost a month ago now... It's my everything bag. I waited to write my review because i really wanted to give the pack a run. First off, I can put EVERYTHING in this bag, okay. Here's what i keep in it: a GE 5000 camera in one side pocket, extra headphones, ethernet cable, batteries, other tech stuff in another side pocket, extra business cards in another... i keep a book or four in the bottom front pocket, alone with some pens & pencils & an umbrella, then in the top front pocket i keep my first aid stuff. in the main compartment, i put my travel toiletries in the mesh zipper pocket up top, then i've folded up a rain jacket with fleece shell, that's in the bottom of the bag. AGAIN, all of this stuff stays in the pack. IN ADDITION, i can fit my laptop, power cord, external hard drive, a 4 - 7 days worth of clothes, undergarments & a pair of canvas shoes in the main compartment. I think one of the better things about this bag is when you've packed it so tightly, like I tend to, is that you can carry it using the side handles & tuck the straps in. Even still, if you were to carry it on your back, you could still bear it, at least for a short period of time, because of the padding in both the back of the pack & the straps. There are 6 click straps that keep your stuff secure, 4 on the sides, top & bottom & two on the straps, one across the chest & a larger one across your waist. This pack is a super pack, for real. I can't wait to get my ID Velcro tags (which therefore makes the pack customizable!!!) The only disadvantage the pack has, in my opinion, is that there's no place to put a water bottle for easy access on the go. That's kind of a big thing for me, but I'll make due with using a water bottle with a clip ring & just have it dangle on one of the the pack's many appendages.

I bought three of these for emergency packs. It's a pretty decent design but you get what you pay for. There's a reason it's under $40, the material is very cheap, the zippers, the stitching, everything really. But it is a pretty decent design and it's not over-compartmentalized like some laptop bags. The side pockets are pretty small like some reviewers mentioned, but if you fill the main three sections, that would be the least of your problems because the whole thing would be taring and the straps wouldn't be able to hold it. If you fill it 50-70% full, it feels really pretty good, and the straps, while flimsy, feel great and support the load nicely. The handles all over are nice, and molle loops are useful. This is not good enough for long trips or year-round use in my opinion. There are no frills, pen holders, mp3 players, etc. When you open the pockets you'll think "wow is that construction cheap!" But then you'll remember how much you paid, you'll shrug and think "yeah, that's about right." So if you're pressed for bucks or need a bunch of cheap bags, this will probably get you through the night. If it falls apart during the apocalypse and zombies are coming for your brains, just bludgeon one and steal his REI, Swiss Gear, etc. Then you'll be good to go!
