This is a nice album with a lot of substance, a lot of meaning, and a lot of relevance. On the other hand, I am not a fan of that revolution business as nothing will be changed, nor do the majority of the hip hop population is phased by it. Despite that fact, the production is solely handled by Numonics, producing a steady stream of jazzy and soulful beats over uninspired drum loops. The beats are more than adequate to push the album forward and has a cohesive feel as a similar signature is noticeable betweem the beats. Reks performs well, with his usual continuous flow and deep lyrics accompanied by aggressive choruses. His flow is continuous but on point as he rides the beats nicely. Although the more and more I hear Reks, the more I notice that his lyrical structure is not as complicated as I thought it was. An all-around solid album, the content may turn off the average listener; definitely for a deeper listener rather than a casual one since there isn't really any bangers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad July 24, 2012
By Duffsta
I hyped myself up for this album after hearing unlearn and to be honest I am a tad disappointed but not at REKS at all. Numonics beats are pretty good and the sampling is solid but the drums all lack balls. They feel too tippy tappy for me. Nothing hit very hard and there wasn't a lot of diversity it them. REKS brought it like he always does and I would have given this 2 or 3 stars if it weren't for his skills and subject matter. But there are two sides to hip hop songs and the beats just never felt right with me. If you can get past them pick it up for sure cuz REKS brought it like he always does!

OMG this is CRAZY, this is the best shit i ever heard! this shit makes me wanna fly to boston just to shake his hand. before it was released there was about 5 songs leaked which were all DOPE so i was a bit worried that some of the other tracks would be slightly weaker, i was VERY VERY WRONG. its soo dumb how one of the most unheard of mcs is the one of the best and most consistent

Best Tracks:

that aint no cliche either, all of them are dope.

BUY THIS ALBUM, i liked straight no chaser but this puts that to shame lol
no doubt at the end of the year this will be one of the standouts

Not as good as Straight No Chaser, but a solid album nonetheless. I you can listen to every track without skipping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant classic September 6, 2012

REKS is a rebel with a clear cut cause and message. I am a big fan, but between this and Rythmatic Eternal King Supreme this guy is killing it right now. I know a lot of people will sleep on this, but it is a quality album and deserves to be recognized.
