More like Grown Up/Mature,

Whats not to like on this album. I've had my qualms with his previous efforts but this album is a step up from BobbyV. The ballads are smooth and have some content. The jams are not overdone but done right. I'm definitely excited with this album from what I have previewed so far. This is the right mix a song for every situation club, bedroom, couch etc. Good show Bobby keep it up! Certainly a good way to start 2009.
Favorite songs are Just Me and You w/Raphael Saadiq(he couldn't pick a better collaborator for this throwback) Stay With Me(hmm what a song) and My Girl. All the other songs are up there. The only song I might skip is BEEP because its definitely played out but a good jam altogether. Get this album and enjoy people!

Rebirth to Mediocrity,
By Kyunta Kentai "soundchild" (local vibrations of L.A.) - See all my reviews

I like the music Bobby V creates. His self proclaimed album and Special Occasions were both very good albums. There was a growth from the self proclaimed to Special Occasions.
BUT The Rebirth is mediocre. The tracks sounds all the same and his lyrics are below average--in comparison to his previous albums. Who makes a song about "3 Is The New 2" (having 2 girls in bed), when he has a song about "Make You The Only One"? To me, that seems juvenile and not true love.. A lot of his hooks and chorus are generic, just a constant repetition, nothing well thought out. I give this album a 2.5 out of 5. If you can cop the album for free, get it, but don't waste your money. Or you can download the tracks below b/c these are the only good ones. Best songs: Make You The Only One Butterfly Tattoo Beep On The Edge You're Not Alone Stay With Me Another Life

My Personal rating: 3.5 Stars
I have made a commitment to support Bobby Valentino after I listened to his first album. The first album was so tasteful and sexy; I just knew that this young man was going to go places. I did not care for the second album. It had poor lyrics and he was just soooooo cocky. It was a real turn off. Now the third album has been released and I have to say that it is a big improvement from the second but nowhere near a good as the first one. Bobby Valentino seems to be stuck in one sound. You don't believe? Put your iPod on a Bobby Valentino shuffle (which I did) and tell me if every song doesn't sound the same and flow right into each other. I give this album a 3.5 simply because you can tell that he is mentally growing up, but not much as an artist.
