More like Grown Up/Mature,

Whats not to like on this album. I've had my qualms with his previous efforts but this album is a step up from BobbyV. The ballads are smooth and have some content. The jams are not overdone but done right. I'm definitely excited with this album from what I have previewed so far. This is the right mix a song for every situation club, bedroom, couch etc. Good show Bobby keep it up! Certainly a good way to start 2009.
Favorite songs are Just Me and You w/Raphael Saadiq(he couldn't pick a better collaborator for this throwback) Stay With Me(hmm what a song) and My Girl. All the other songs are up there. The only song I might skip is BEEP because its definitely played out but a good jam altogether. Get this album and enjoy people!

Rebirth to Mediocrity,

I like the music Bobby V creates. His self proclaimed album and Special Occasions were both very good albums. There was a growth from the self proclaimed to Special Occasions.
BUT The Rebirth is mediocre. The tracks sounds all the same and his lyrics are below average--in comparison to his previous albums. Who makes a song about "3 Is The New 2" (having 2 girls in bed), when he has a song about "Make You The Only One"? To me, that seems juvenile and not true love.. A lot of his hooks and chorus are generic, just a constant repetition, nothing well thought out. I give this album a 2.5 out of 5. If you can cop the album for free, get it, but don't waste your money. Or you can download the tracks below b/c these are the only good ones. Best songs: Make You The Only One Butterfly Tattoo Beep On The Edge You're Not Alone Stay With Me Another Life

My Personal rating: 3.5 Stars
I have made a commitment to support Bobby Valentino after I listened to his first album. The first album was so tasteful and sexy; I just knew that this young man was going to go places. I did not care for the second album. It had poor lyrics and he was just soooooo cocky. It was a real turn off. Now the third album has been released and I have to say that it is a big improvement from the second but nowhere near a good as the first one. Bobby Valentino seems to be stuck in one sound. You don't believe? Put your iPod on a Bobby Valentino shuffle (which I did) and tell me if every song doesn't sound the same and flow right into each other. I give this album a 3.5 simply because you can tell that he is mentally growing up, but not much as an artist.

I bumped this entire album for a whole year. My favorite album of the year! Just got his new album Fly On The Wall and it doesnt really compare to this one unfortunately.

I am a really big Bobby V. fan. I seem to like his albums due to the versatility that he has. He has the good club songs as well as good love songs. I listen to this album alot. If you even know who Bobby V. is and is considering this album. Just get it. You will like it.

Not To Shabby,

After the abysmal failure of his decent sophomore CD, Bobby Valentino easily could have found his place in the R&B graveyard, however he returns with a vengeance on his junior CD, The Return. Fueled by the lead single Beep Beep The Return is full of smooth slow jams (3 Is The New 2, Makes Me Say, Another Life ) Catchy up-tempo tracks (Hands On Me and Make You The Only One ). Listening to this CD, I got the feeling that Bobby was going for a grown & sexy vibe and for the most part it works, however his over-singing does take the vibe away on song songs. The CD There are some weak points on the CD (Butterfly Tattoo, Be My Love and On The Edge ) and while Bobby does get assistance from Raphael Saddiq on his cover version of the classic Just Me & You he once again shows that he needs to leave the classics alone, especially after the mess that was Soon As I Get Home from his Special Occasion CD. While Bobby V may not have the voice to compete with his former label mate Ne-Yo, he does show a maturing artist who will be around for years to come.
