I was skeptical but after loading and running the software I am a true believer! You simple load the software, plug in an external (USB) hard drive, answer a few very basic prompts and away you go. Nothing else to do. The software continuously backs up your system and creates recovery points that you can choose from in the event you want to not use the latest backup. (Much like Apple's Time Machine).

I have not noticed any reduced system performance as a result of the software running in the background. It just works...

Customer support on the phone was not as quick as I would like (is it ever?) But I can tell you that when I used the email option they answered quickly and were very helpful.

Overall, I highly recommend this product. In the twenty years I have been using backup systems, this is the easiest and most effective application I have seen.

Installs quickly and goes to work in the background w/o any noticeable effect on performance. Great tool for XP and Vista. (If you have Vista Ultimate, there is a disk image backup option included, so you wouldn't need the Rebit.) All you need is a second hard drive at least as big as the drive you are backing up. External drive works fine.

If you like ease of use..., if you like no hassle backups..., if you like letting the software 'do your' bidding', this is the backup program for you. No more re-writable CDs ot other media, tapes, diskettes.
Once installed, you do nothing!! REBIT does it all for you.
Lose data? Worried that its gone to data heaven? Have no fear, REBIT is here. Simply copy the current copy from Rebit and paste onto your C-drive. You're back in business.
Have a hard drive crash? Think you're out of business? Think again. Rebit restores all your stuff to the new hard drive, even the ops. sys. and registry. Not all backup programs do that. And it's effortless. Best investment for the novice or expert computer user.

The program will not run on Windows 2000 Pro as I had hoped. Loading it on XP took several attempts. I use an external HD connected via a USB port. It took hours and hours for the data to transfer. I have not had to refer to the backup as yet. Continuous updates are a bit time consuming, but necessary if you are to achieve the desired results.
