Hard-Core Fury On the Surface!,
By Chris Heeter (Central Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reborn (Audio CD)
When I heard Truth Solution on the radio, I wanted to hear more of Living Sacrifice, so I went and bought their CD. I was so impressed by their music, that I made a web page about them. I couldn't believe that there was such intense Christian music out there. I love to listen to Living Sacrifice because the drums are fast, guitars are distorted to the max, and the vocals express anger with Satan (well, to my predictions). I think that Living Sacrifice is the most unique hard-core band on the market today because they have a sound like nobody else. I am still impressed with their amazing work on this album.

Nothing even comes close. LS is KING,
This review is from: Reborn (Audio CD)
Forget anything you have ever heard about hardcore/metal music, you are about to re-learn. Reborn will blow you away.
There is only one word i can find that will describe this album: PERFECT. Every song is so intricate and so precise it blows your mind that it is so brutal. From blending acoustic guitars in the middle of a death metal song to the massive tape loops (used sparingly to good effect), this is the album that made Living Sacrifice "KING". Every song will get stuck in your head, and you will find yourself bobbing your head and drumming your fingers long after the cd has stopped playing. This is an absolutely amazing cd. It is time to re-learn everything you know about heavy music. If you are a fan of the genre, and even if you are not (you WILL be, after listening to "Reborn"), you NEED to buy this cd. This was the album that introduced me to metal, and ever since then, hearing all the other bands, this album is still on the top. Nothing touches it.

Living Sacrifice - 'Reborn' (Tooth And Nail Records),

'Reborn' looks to be the fourth effort from this Little Rock,Arkansas metal/grind core band.It should also be noted that guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh has taken over the lead vocals. Some semi-impressive cuts to turn your stereo volume to 'ten' are the blistering opener "Reborn Empowered","Awakening","Sell Out" and "Liar".Might be too heavy for some.Check this CD out at your own risk.

Fast, Explosive, Complex in structure; the ultimate album!,

This album is nothing short of spectacular. Most likely the best work ever from the (then metal quartet) Living Sacrifice, this album explores every dark corner of the metal genre to make up one heck of a mind blowing effort. Nothing is left out in this album; thrash, speed metal, math metal, death metal, and a touch of hardcore. And yes, they are 100% Christian. Which is spectacular in itself that Christians can rock soo hard and still keep the message.Starting with "Reborn Empowered", LS kicks off the album with a ferocious start, followed by the well known single of "Truth Solution". From there, they explore the most nether reigons of dark metal, which leads the untrained ear to believe that these guys have more in common with the leigons of Death rather than the Christian metal corps. Tracks like "NO Longer", "sellout", "Spirit Fall", and Liar, further prove LS's talent as a band as well as devout Christians. This is my Favorite album in my collection. I urge any metal fan Christian or not to check out this album. This is one that any metal fan can appreciate.

Reborn and Empowered,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reborn (Audio CD)
Living Sacrifice, one of the all-time greatest Christian metal bands is back. When first hearing this CD 2 years ago it was amazing. It is however even more amazing after you listen to it again! I mean these guys are brutal! The intro is a little long but once they get going they show why they are so respected. A mix of metal and hardcore this album is heavy. Some older LS is present in songs like "Liar" but the vocals are 10 times better than any of their old stuff. The best tracks are "Truth Solution," "Reject," both of which were #1 on the Christian hard music charts, "Threatened," and "No Longer." If you want music that rocks and lyrics that stand firm in content check out this monster release

I really have overlooked this cd. Anyway, this cd is pretty good and one of L.S.'s best. I love how it starts off with the drums on the first song, in fact, I love the drumming on this whole disk. Lance isn't called The Machine for nothing. As for the rest of the album, it is all good and pretty fast, kinda like speed-thrash. I can't find one bad song on here. My only complaint about this cd is that is sounds repetitive after awhile. Oh well. I guess it comes with the metalcore territory. Plus, the enhanced version comes with the video for Reject.

I have listened to this album repeatedly for the last 8 years and it still stands the test of time. This is the first Living Sacrifice album after the lineup change. A slight change in their sound from their previous albums, and I actually prefer their new sound. It's more complex and varied than their previous albums. It's also not as "death metal" as their previous stuff, and has evolved into more of a thrash metal album. They have slowed down the tempo in some songs and have chosen to be more subtle and technical with their music rather than a pure onslaught of guitar riffs from their previous albums. These guys have some serious talent and it shows. A high quality album all around

They've Had Something To Prove,
By Bill Lumbergh "yeaahh..." (Initech) - See all my reviews

Living Sacrifice was such a good band. They proved that Christian rock doesn't suck. Yes, there are lame bands like Stryper and Whitecross, but Living Sacrifice paved the way for a GOOD breed of Christian metal. This, along with the other CD's, are very great CD's. This one started off the metalcore sound they carried on their final three albums. "Reject" sort of gives the band a Meshuggah feel. It's such a great song. Anyways, buy this album, along with the rest. They're so damn good.

Mind Blowing Metal!,
By Joe Brown (Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reborn (Audio CD)
This album is as intense and real as any record gets. Every song on here (with the exception of the instrumental) is a classic. Each is unique and brutal. Bruce's raging throat will beat your head in as he screams his guts out on "Truth Solution" and "Reject". Lance has some of the most crushing drum work ever, especially on "160". People have compared this to a "Master of Puppets" or "Reign in Blood" for it's time, if you listen it will be hard to refute that.
