Customer Reviews

I finish this book in one day, but when back and read again.
Miranda and Kylie are still strong characters so it really feels like you are just stepping into Della’s shoes.

A fun read full of action, plot twists, and lovable characters.

Reborn was on my wishlist because I enjoyed the Shadow Falls series, and I so wanted to be in Della's head. I love C.C.'s writing so far, and from what I have seen from Della as Kylie's best friend, I love her humor, her loyalty and her badassness.
Things get going pretty quickly, giving Della a mystery to look into with her family history and maybe figuring out if there was another supernatural in the family. Her parents and sister are norms, and she has to hide who she truly is. They are disappointed in her and think that she is just a teen getting in trouble and suspect she's doing drugs. Having the weight of that on her shoulders is hard on her and wishes that they understood. But she has made Shadow Falls her home, and the teachers and other people there her family so that is adding some balance.
She chases after a new person who she thought was a rogue when she first gets back to campus, and when she finds out he's not, they have started out on the wrong foot. He is infuriating and cute, and gives her a hard time. But she is also trying to figure out things with Steve, who she has some history and also major chemistry going on with. So, thus begins what I feel like might be another series long love triangle, but as I am writing up to this point at 15% we'll see how things shake out.
Turns out that things between the trio only gets more complicated as the story goes on. It was a fun one to read, and in the end no matter where Della's heart it, some things form a bond and those can't be broken. I love the layers in this and how even the things that don't seem to be connected end up playing a part into the story.

Though I missed Kylie being the main voice, it was awesome being in Della's head and finding out the many reasons why she's such a badass. Della finds out some of her family's secrets, and we get to see more of the sexy shape shifter Steve, plus a new player in town Chase. I loved the little mission into the funeral home and how Della, Kylie and Miranda are like the supernatural Charlie's Angels :) Della's the hero several times and we get to meet Holiday's baby :) Left some questions/ issues to be answered in the next book, which I can't wait to read! Overall a really good story and heroine.

Shadow Falls has ended, but I'm so HAPPY that Shadow Falls:After Dark was created!!! It's like I never left the word, more like I took a vacation until Reborn was ready. In Reborn its all about our Sassy Vampire Della! Do you remember all the crazy she dealt with when it came to Steve? Yeah well, he is in this book and then another guy shows up as well.....Let's say Della just can't outrun crazy when it comes to guys.

So Della is at her parents place. She has a dream and suddenly has this giant pimple on her neck. So then she learns of an uncle, who may or may not be like her. So obviously Della is going to look into this and hopefully it can be good news for her. After getting caught in her dads desk, Della goes home early.

The fun doesnt stop there! Della sniffs out a familar scent and leads to this vampire Chase, now he and Steve will be driving Della crazy. Though I'm sure you will love and laugh at these guys.

Want some more good news?! Kylie and Miranda appear and the three of them are acting like nothing has changed, well beside Della coming back early and spilling all that happened. So what shall this vamp do? Maybe relax on her first night back? Ha! When are any of these girls really relaxing? Della's stroll leads to meeting up with Steve, which isn't a first late night meeting. A crazy vamp goes by the camp and Della goes with Burnette to check out the situation. Della really wants another mission with the FRU, will this night prove she has what it takes? Well, if I know Della, it's to never underestimate her!

Shall I go on? Of course I will, I've got lots of juicy things to say about Reborn and all those in it, but I'll try not to spoil so much of the book (holding back is so hard).

Another fantastic series by C.C. Hunter. I have only read the first book in the Shadow Falls series and absolutely loved it and I was excited to start the new series, After Dark. Ms Hunter has created a fantastic world and the characters are so vast and lovable. To me it didn’t matter that I hadn’t completed the first series, I knew some of the characters and some of their backstory, but really it wouldn’t matter. This is another great indication of the talent of Ms Hunter.

Della Tsang is a teenage vampire, but seems to have developed the ability to sense ghosts as well. Visiting home for the weekend, Della is counting down the minutes until she can go back to Shadow Falls. It seems her family believes she’s into drugs and alcohol. They used to be close until she turned. Della is seriously contemplating faking her own death so her parents can move on. But selfishly, Della doesn’t want to live without her family, so she will endure their wrath and their disheartening stares. Her little sister, Marla mentioned their father’s twin brother became sick and died in a car accident. Could he be a vampire and faked his own death? Something for Della to find out.

Back at school/camp with her cabin mates, Kylie is a chameleon and a ghost whisperer and Miranda is a dyslexic witch. There seems to be a new guy at school and he seems very familiar to Della. His scent is recognisable, but Della doesn’t know from where. Chase Tallman is a cocky arrogant vampire and is interested in Della.

Della asks Derek (Fae) for help with finding her Uncle, but it won’t be easy. Della is desperate for that connection. Della is feeling the presence of a ghost following her around. It is disturbing her and won’t communicate. Who and what does it want?

C.C. Hunter is the author of the new Young Adult Paranormal series Shadow Falls published by St. Martin's Press.

C.C. grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she's still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is so not a frog. When she's not writing, she's reading, spending time with her family, or is shooting things-with a camera, not a gun.

C.C. Hunter is a pseudonym. Her real name is Christie Craig and she also writes humorous romantic suspense romance novels for Grand Central.

C.C. would love to hear from you. Because of deadlines, it may take her a day or so to get back with you, but she will reply.
