5.0 out of 5 stars a little TMI but really good.
I was really excited to start getting the most out of my new rebounder. I purchased this book expecting just new exercises to keep the workout fun. This book went beyond every expectation. Not only does it have good moves for the rebounder but 75% of the book is all about why rebounding is the best exercise for your entire body. The contents include studies conducted by...

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but more than I needed
This would be a great book if an editor had deleted about half of the text. Most of the first part of the book is the author talking about his journey of discovery. After that, he goes into great detail about cellular functions including the replication of DNA, how mitochondria function, etc.

I have a bachelor's in science so I was able to follow what he...

I was really excited to start getting the most out of my new rebounder. I purchased this book expecting just new exercises to keep the workout fun. This book went beyond every expectation. Not only does it have good moves for the rebounder but 75% of the book is all about why rebounding is the best exercise for your entire body. The contents include studies conducted by NASA and the author's own research. I was pretty blown away at how incredible rebounding can be for every cell in the body. The author goes over every system of the body which can be a little dry but the last paragraphs always bring it back to the subject. Overall, I loved it!

This would be a great book if an editor had deleted about half of the text. Most of the first part of the book is the author talking about his journey of discovery. After that, he goes into great detail about cellular functions including the replication of DNA, how mitochondria function, etc.

I have a bachelor's in science so I was able to follow what he was saying, but I found it to be quite difficult to read, not to mention it wasn't very interesting.

He eventually gets to the point in each chapter where he sums up why he spent several pages explaining how the cones and rods in the eye work, or how the mitochondria function, but by that time I found that I really didn't care. The summary would have been adequate to let me know what this exercise does on a cellular level without having to wade through all the other stuff.

The last few chapters he does talk about how much rebounding you need, how efficient it is as an exercise, how it can be helpful for many different conditions, and how it's good for everyone including infants and quadraplegics. He also goes through the different type of bounces, as well as some workout routines.

I feel this book has some good information, if you are willing to either wade through or skim over the majority of the text.

I got a lot of wonderful information from this book. It was detailed about the physiology of rebounding something I didn't expect. I was surprised by all the benefits of this exercise. When I work out in the garden and I am sore I rebound and the soreness goes away by 85%. I think it is amazing. It helps the lymph clear all the cellular debris and many other benefits.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rebounding information., April 6, 2009
This review is from: Rebound Exercise: The Ultimate Exercise for the New Millennium (Paperback)
Mr. Carter is the author of this book, and a pioneer in the field of rebounding. If you are a rebounding enthusiast I believe it is important to hear what Mr. Carter has to say about this form of exercise. This book is a little too technical for me, but it will help you understand why rebounding is the best low impact form of exercise on the planet. I recommend this book. Most of it is very interesting.

The book was a joy to read. Covering both the history
of trampolining and the evolution of the rebounder it really set the stage for the exercises and results therefrom. It covered in great detail the benefits to the body. I would recommend for anyone who has a rebounder or is contemplating the purchase of one.

I loved the book. Anyone who wants to understand how the body responds to rebounding will love to read this. It is most informative and will without a doubt stimulate you to get on the rebounder and achieve what the book explains.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rebounding better than treadmill, August 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rebound Exercise: The Ultimate Exercise for the New Millennium (Paperback)
I bought one for my wife and I and one for my son and one for a friend who is
trying to recover from breaking his hip joint. He is a pain in the ass patient
like I would be and stubborn like me but his attitude has always been Bad. Our Biology
professor used to call him rotten attitude - he just called me Drunk because of a Frat
party. This all was 40 plus years ago. But now I did not want to buy a treadmill
for my wife - they are hard impact, big, heavy -two men to move one, too many moving
parts, breakdown and end up being used like a clothes rack and good ones cost 3 grand and more. You start rebounding for recovery like my friend after a while and later start
low impact walking in place. Get the soft bounce if under 300lbs and the hard bounce
it 300 to 600 lbs. Also buy the Bar. Do not buy the Urban rebounder - junk - will
break - BuY the Needak Rebounder. Also buy the non-folding one.
