We bought two of these boosters for our 7 and 9 year olds. They love them and so do we. They fit the kids perfectly, they fit the car perfectly. They are very solidly built and seem like they should be twice as safe in a crash as your average car seat. The size adjusment is simple and wide ranging. The material on these is really nice. It seems nicer than the vivo lite so I'd suggest spending the few dollars more for the vivo.

I can only think of a couple reasons why these wouldn't be the best choice for anyone else. One is they are kind of heavy. So if you have to lug the booster around frequently for some reason you will get a workout. Two is the fact that they are quite the sporting design. Like I said they fit my kids great, but my kids are both skinny. If your kids are on the plump side they might find this booster a bit claustrophobic.

I was searching for the perfect booster seat for my 3 1/2 year old son when I came across the Recaro Vivo Booster Seat. I looked at their website and all of the safety features and compared it to other top of the line seats like Britax. My son was transistioning from the Britax Marathon so safety is very important to me. When I saw all of the safety features I decided to go with the Recaro Vivo over the Britax Parkway or the Monarch. I liked the deep head and body wings that cradeled my son and the side impact protection that they offered. Even though I have a car with side impact airbags in the front and rear, you can never be too safe when it comes to your child. The seat is very stable and fits perfectly in any seat in the rear of the vehicle. The seat offers three reclining posistions so that you can get the most accurate fit in your car. It also is adjustable and fits children through the age of ten. The bottom also detaches for when the child outgrows the back support and they can be in the base for even longer. I am extremely happy with this purchase and my son loves his big boy car seat.

We needed new carseats once the children outgrew the "convertible" carseats which don't last nearly as long as they ought. We tried the twins in every booster we could lay our hands on. They hated them all. I was very impressed with the Recaro safety features but couldn't get my husband to agree to the price sight unseen. I finally found a Recaro booster in a local baby specialty store and was even more impressed in person. Better yet, both children loved it. At 3 years old, they were so happy with the comfort and I was so happy with the convenience and safety. I immediately ordered two online. After one week, both children refused to ride in my husband's car anymore because he had the "baby" seats installed and they wanted their "big kid" seats. After two weeks, my husband asked me to order two more. The twins are now 6 and STILL love their carseats and so do we. They are washable, lightweight, easy to move to other cars, easy to sleep in, comfortable and SAFE! Buy a Recaro; you won't regret it!

I chose this carseat based on safety information I could find. It is also very well made. My 4.5 year old really likes it. When I asked him if it was comfortable, he told me, "Oh yes, it is a little magnificent!" So there you have it. We are all very happy with this purchase.

We did a lot of research before switching our 4 year old from a regular car seat with a 5 point harness to a booster seat that uses the car's seat belt as it's only restraint. We found that the Recaro Vivo had the highest safety ratings by Consumer Reports and various other consumer sites of any high back booster seat. We used a hand me down Graco booster seat for a week while we waited for the Recaro to arrive and didn't like that when our son fell asleep in it, his little head would fall forward and he couldn't really get comfortable in it...the back was too "straight up & down". With the adjustable "tilt" of the Recaro, this no longer happens. We are so pleased with the Recaro and our boy likes it too - it is his "big boy seat". The fabric is quite nice and very resilient. It washes up very easily. Our son had a little carsick accident in it and I was so pleased with how easy it was to clean. It is a snap to move from one car to the other, no more install worries. At first I thought that the protective sides that are up around his face would be uncomfortable for him but they're not. I like knowing there is a little extra side impact protection with this seat. The price is truly astounding as well. It sells for $30-$80 less than the next comparable high back booster. It's surprising to me that more stores don't carry this brand. We could get it through Babies R Us and our local Goore's baby store here in Northern California, but both said they'd have to order and it would take up to 6 weeks. We ordered ours through Amazon and had it in less than a week. Even with the cost of shipping, it was downright reasonable. Couldn't be more pleased.

I purchased this for my 5 1/2 year old daughter. She is 43 lbs and 44" tall, and never has been above the 50th percentile. This seat is supposed to go up to 100 lbs, but it is SO narrow that my daughter could barely sit comfortably in it. She would have outgrown it w/i a year. Returned it and purchased a Britax. Thankfully Amazon has a great return policy.

We bought this seat after the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated this booster a "best bet". And boy are we glad we did. The seat is very well built and sturdy in comparison to others in its price range. It's easy to assemble and move around from car to car. The way it guides the belt is ideal, something that other seats miss. It also has head protection that many other seats seem to overlook. We like this booster so much, I just ordered a second one for our 3 year old (who is a big boy). We are confident that this seat will fit our kids through our state's requirements!

I purchased this booster seat for my almost 5 year old son who is 40 lbs and just under 4 ft tall. I hated to part with my 5 point car seat but it was time. I researched many booster seats. We have a Sunshine Monterey in our other car. There were things I didn't like about it and didn't want for my son's primary booster seat. This seat reclines (slightly) and my son said it's very comfortable. It was rated highly by the NHI for safety. I like the attachment along the side where you hook the strap so it's very secure. My son's head doesn't fall forward if he falls asleep in this seat. Portability is a plus too. You can't go wrong with this booster seat.

Great booster seat it is well built and offers a lot of protection to your child. My son loves it he calls it his racing seat. Other parents who have seen it always mention how well built this car seat is compared to theirs.

I was really excited to get this booster after reading the reviews and seeing that the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety gave it a Best Bet rating. I also liked that it is manufactured by a company that makes seats for racecars. Unfortunately, this booster did not work with the seatbelt in my husband's truck, a 2005 Dodge Ram 4 door. When my son would lean forward and then lean back, the shoulder strap of the seatbelt would not retract. I read that a few other people had this problem too. I did not feel safe asking my son to simply retract the seatbelt manually everytime he leanded forward. Even though we will not be keeping this booster, it seems safe and like it works well for most. Just be sure to check that your seatbelts retract. I'm not sure how long it would have taken me to figure out that my son's seatbelt was not retracting unless he told me. He sits behind the driver. I believe that mine was ordered directly from amazon and the return was easy. They paid for the return shipping and arranged for UPS to pick it up. Fortunately, I had kept the boxes. I am now going to try the Monterey Booster. One advantage to the Monterery is that it does have LATCH. This is something that I thought about after ordering the Recaro Vivo. I like the idea of the booster being secured in the car. Hopefully, the seatbelt will retract and it will provide a good fit for my son overall!
