Works great, quick fix, and versatile.

Was 1/4" to 3/8" clearance between small sensor and magnet yet worked just fine.

This makes it necessary to lock the door before the alarm will set.

These contacts work great for making a deadbolt-closed sensor that can be put in-line with the associated door contact on your alarm system. This makes it necessary to lock the door before the alarm will set. Very easy to drill a hole in the dead bolt jamb pocket then drill another at a 45 degree angle where the door trim meets the wall aimed to intersect the other hole. You can then insert the switch unit and thread the wire out the second hole. The magnet part can be cut open to find 4 small 'super-magnets. You can pull one off the stack and after sanding the end of the deadbolt to roughen the surface, glue the magnet on with epoxy (it will stick magnetically but you don't want someone pulling it off). Great item!

I had to buy a new alarm sensor because we moved a window during a remodeling project. This looked like it fit the bill, so I ordered it, installed it with the help of my contractor, and it works just fine. I only wish the wire were just a little bit thicker. A minor complaint, but that's what makes it fall short 5 stars.

I had been having trouble with an alarm contact for over a year. I dreaded paying the alarm company money to come fix it so I bought one of these to replace it myself. My original contact had the wires screwed in, but this worked just fine by splicing the wires. They have nice long wires so you have lots of room to work with. I had to cut them shorter to get the contact back in the hole in the door. Works great so far. I would recommend product this to any DIY handyman/woman. Saved me a bunch of money.

Ordered 10 of these. Shipping time was o.k. Installed 7- alarm system had a erratic false alarm. One of these switches measured approx. 1k ohm when closed. This was at threshold of an alarm, so would false out. Since I had spares, replaced the defective one. I did not contact supplier and complain, so cannot evaluate customer service.
Otherwise, these switches are what I expected.

It worked for me and a standard hard wired door alamr. Drilled a 3/8 inch hole up through the header and hard wired to my alarm system on a closed wire loop. The magnet is strong enough when aligned properly.

I used this in a patio sliding door channel frame. This product allowed me not to have to drill into the door channel frame and allowed the sensor to be flush and operate. The plastic is a little more lightweight than I would like to see, but there was no problem once they were inserted into the hole.

Works much better than the rectangular shaped magnetic switches on the metal door it's mounted on. Had some only last a few weeks before there was intermittent operation. Not good for a security system you can't rely on! So far, so good with this switch!
