5.0 out of 5 stars No such thing as recession proof, but this book takes you closer, August 12, 2009
This review is from: Recession-Proof Your Financial Life (Paperback)
This is another good book written by Nancy Dunnan that provides great financial advice. Another good book she had written is How to Invest $50 - $5,000.

This book is about educating readers on how to manage their finances so that even during recessions, they will be able to function normally. She advises readers on how to construct a net worth statement, check the safety of their bank, create a frugal budget, increase savings, and fight foreclosure. Due to the fact that the unemployment in this country is on the rise, some readers might find it interesting to read the chapter on how to increase the chances of keeping a job. Some of the author's suggestions are:

SHOW UP. Be there. Come in early. Stay late. Be seen in the cafeteria. Eat at your desk several times a week. Play on the company's baseball team. Participate in its charitable activities.

WRITE UP. Contribute items to your company's newsletter. Write a position paper. Review a book in your field. Agree to take meeting notes. Get your name in print, but not by writing negative things about your company or your boss on your blog or on Facebook.
