4.0 out of 5 stars Required reading if you're visiting Britain April 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
One of the many reasons I love visiting Britain is the number of things I can enjoy there, either free of charge or on a limited budget. I thought I knew about most of them, but this book showed me that I wasn't even close. I can hardly wait to return to the U.K. to explore the sites listed in this book.

I especially like this in Kindle format. See, I do something that appalls people when I travel: I tear up my travel guides, keeping only the pages I figure I'll need for reference. I just can't see the point of hauling a thick, heavy travel guide (or two or three) around as I travel.

So, the fact that this is on Kindle and it links to lots of websites for the most current information... well, I'd say it's worth its weight in gold, but this weighs nothing.

For me, this is a great book in a great format for anyone who travels. And, for anyone visiting the U.K., it'll point you in the direction of truly wonderful, free things to see and do while you're there.

It's best for people who like history (and historical sites to visit) as well as off-the-beaten-path destinations. However, the attractions in London, Edinburgh, and Cardiff will appeal to absolutely anyone who wants the best tourist experience for the least money.

In addition, this guide is ideal for families with small children. If your family is like mine, you've had the frustrating experience of buying expensive tickets to a stately home or museum... and then you've had to leave because one of the children was being fussy. When you're visiting free attractions, the stress is off.

If you're going to the U.K. for business or vacation, get a copy of this Kindle book. I think you'll be very glad that you did.

There isn't much in this book that I found valuable. It was ok, but not. Good. It was for free so the price was right

Well, it's basically a travel guide put out by a great travel guide book company. I liked it because I haven't been to London since 2007 and this book brought me up to date. Plus, I like the fact that it's on Kindle so I can take it with me while sitting in St. James Park smoking a cigar.
