5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Regular Batteries
Works great in my Guitar Hero wireless guitar. Just hook it up to my PC USB port (or the XBOX 360 port) and wait for the light to turn green. Seems to run for at least a couple of weekends playing. Takes about 4 hours to charge from completely run down. Good product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works Well, but Not Really Cost-Effective

The Guitar Hero Recharge Battery Pack Kit offers an alternate solution for powering your wireless GHIII controller.

The kit consists of a proprietary battery pack (i.e., you can't use it in anything else) and a charger. Both items are very compact - barely bigger than a Zippo lighter. The charger connects to your Xbox via any USB port. I was surprised how quickly it fully recharges a battery pack - from totally dead to totally fresh in about two hours - since it doesn't plug directly into the wall. Also, your Xbox does NOT have to be powered on to charge the battery pack. A fully-charged battery gives you about 10 - 12 hours of play.

My only question is how necessary it really is. I get great battery life using regular alkalines despite playing a few hours just about every day. So it may be months until I recoup the cost of this kit vs. the regular batteries I would have been feeding into the guitar. Plus, this rechargeable pack goes a noticeably shorter amount of time between charges. If you're a heavy-duty player, you may want to invest in a second battery so that you always have a fresh one on hand. But again, that just further dilutes the savings of using rechargeables in the first place.

I paid 19.99 for the Les Paul wireless controller in the first place and it came with batteries. I could just buy a new controller and sell the other one for $2 and I would be ahead. The regular batteries last so long, and you don't need to buy the real expensive batteries to run the controller, not sure you would ever pay for this.

I prefer this product to using regular batteries because its less hassle. The charge lasts just as long and it recharges very quickly.

I bought this kit for my PS2 guitar but come to find out this recharge kit doesn't fit the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar, only fits the Les Paul and Striker guitars.

The recharge kit works well with my xbox 360 guitar hero controller. recharges pretty quick. design looks good and matches the guitar etc. Its expensive. I bought it at $15 and now its at $20. I spend less money on the wireless guitar. (pawn america $13) But in the long run itll save me money on batteries so its worth it. The charging cable is mini usb and will charge in pretty much any usb port. I even charge it in on my cable boxes usb port.

I am happy that I purchased this rechargeable battery kit. It seems to work well so far. Just don't put it in the guitar backwards...it's nearly impossible to get out.
