Review
Zak Sally's Recidivist is dark, complex, fugue-like-- unlike so many other books, it both demands and rewards rereading. This is an eloquent step forward for the graphic novel. --Eric Lorberer, editor, Rain Taxi Review of Books
...one of the more unique and rewarding visions in comics --The Comics Journal
...there are moments of brilliance and great poignancy (in Recidivist). It's an astonishing feat, pulled off with incredible assurance. I've never encountered anything like it. --Michael Bonesteel, author of Henry Darger; Art and Selected Writings
About the Author
Zak Sally has been making comics and 'zines for over 15 years. His work has appeared all over the place: he's written for a bunch of magazines, shown his art a couple places, and done various other junk as well. Perhaps best known for his 11 years as bass player in the minimal rock band Low, Sally is also the founder and owner of La Mano 21, a publishing concern that is pretty wonderful.
