5.0 out of 5 stars this is a must have
This is exactly what I was looking for. A three ring binder with 8 folders tabs where on the back side is a pocket to store recipes that you clipped, 80 pages of blank pages for you to write your recipes, and 20 plastic adhesive pages that you can save recipes that other people gave you in their own handwritten or type recipes. On the blank pages, it says Recipe then the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Organizing recipes
I collect recipes and have a file folder where they go until I use them - in no organized way. I wanted someplace to put them that would be easier to access and that would encourage me to sort them by type. I'm not sure that this book is going to do that. I wish that there was a software program available that I could use to work with the pre-printed recipe pages. I...

On the blank pages, it says Recipe then the next line its says, from.the the next line is servings then the next line is preparation time and the last line is cooking time. Then you list the ingredients on the left and you write down the directions on the right side. On the lower bottom, you can add any notes. Very nicely set up. I definitely need more than 80 pages of blank pages, so what I did was, I took one of the blank pages and copy it on the copying machine and makes lots of extra pages. Punch the holes and slip it right in the recipe keeper. I've taken labels and place it over some of the tabs because I don't need some of the catagories that they had and I wanted to break down my baking recipes, so that i could sort out the cookies, cakes and pie section. I got three of these as I plan to make triplets copies and hand 2 of them down to my children as gifts. I highly recommend this if you are looking to store your recipes and have it in an organized fashion. The binder is good quality.

UPDATE: 09/20/2009
Still using this to date and keeps every recipe organized. I now have 2. Have no problems with the binder rings as they are still closing and opening with no problem. I still recommend this to every cook/baker.

I'm on a special diet so I collect recipes from everywhere, internet magazines, people.. etc. This recipe binder holds everything. Only a couple of negatives to cause me to give it a 4. It's a big three ring binder, makes it easier to accommodate those people who print on standard size paper, but also makes it a bit heavy and a little awkward in the kitchen. The divider tabs are preprinted so if you prefer different categories, you you have to mark over or make a sticky label to go over them. There are plenty of blank pages that you can fill in by hand if you like, or do like me and make a template on your computer and print out on them perfectly. There are handy pockets in the divider pages for clippings and there are several sticky filmed pages (like photo albums have) for recipes as well.

If you clip recipes from magazines or the Internet, this is a great way to organize your recipes. It has dividers with pockets, which I use to store recipes that I want to try. Recipes I decide are worthy of making again go into the photo album style pages.

I will have to create one for myself. I don't have the neatest handwriting. You can order extra pre-printed pages but you can't order extra "magnetic" pages. The overall size should be just a little bit larger. I print out some recipes from online sources and it doesn't work well with 8-1/2 x 11" pages. The pockets are just a little too small and the magnetic pages are significantly too small. I think this will become a place to create my own personal cookbook so I can have a single location for recipes I really like. Unfortunately, I still need an organizer!

I bought this for my son who is leaving home for the first time. He loved it, especially since I had copied his favorite recipes and placed them inside the keeper. I like the fact that I can print out a recipe on the computer and file the full-size page into the recipe keeper. It is of good quality and something he will use for a long time to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, November 20, 2007

I cook almost every night using new and old recipes. I have an evolving stock of recipes, some cut from magazines, some printed from the internet, and many on recipe cards. This recipe keeper is nice because it is a fairly large binder (take out the extra pages in the back if you need more room as I did. I store the extra pages until I need them). I put internet and magazine recipes in the photo album stlye pages provided in the binder. I hole punched my recipe cards and inserted them that way. I store new recipes I haven't yet tried in the pockets at the beginning of each section tab. The binder style of this recipe keeper is nice because it makes it very easy to flip through when you are choosing recipes. It is very much like your own personalized cookbook. This is a great product if you like to be organized and if you have or are aquiring a lot of recipes. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I wish it had more of the photo album style pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!, February 11, 2008

This was WAY BETTER than I realized it would be. It was bigger than I anticipated, and had more than I expected. I did read the details of it, but it was more than I thought it would be.....I am extremely happy with my purchase and it goes perfectly with my Itallian/ Chef kitchen theme that I have going on in here! This is something that I can pass down to my children when they want to know "How did Mom make that special dish that came from her head or that she got from Great-Grandma????"

It was exactly what I needed!

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST recipe keeper ever, October 3, 2009

I have purchased this for many friends as house warming gifts filled with a couple of recipes that I have turned them onto and it has been a hit over and over again. I personally LOVE this it is so easy to use either from cutting a small recipe out of a mag and putting them on the protected pages to printing out a full page and taping it onto the write on pages. The pockets in each section fit a true size piece of paper so that you don't have to fold it. The only thing I wish could change is that you could re order the protected pages, you are able to reorder the write on pages for a pack of 80 for $10.00 just not the protected pages.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost everything I need, March 14, 2007
This review is from: Recipe Keeper (Ring-bound)
I like the big pages and that you can move pages around. The pockets are awesome for recipes I want to try. Standard three-ring binder means you can print out recipes, use a three-hole punch and they fit perfectly. Wish there were a few plastic sleeves to cover the in-use recipe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally organized!, March 11, 2007

This is a good organizer. Nice layout. I taped in most recipes and hand wrote some. I like the pockets w/ each category so I can store recipes that I would like to try before officially adding them into the book. The only downside was one binding screw was loose on arrival and the binder fell apart - but it was easily fixed w/ some superglue.
