This book is plagiarism at its' finest!!

I had originally given this cookbook 5 stars. However, I went in to grab a recipe for a fish dish and was totally surprised to see a recipe for a dish I had pulled off Allrecipes a while ago and have made to the point that I have it memorized. So, rose petals off my eyes, I went in and started to research the authors other "recipes" and found EVERY ONE that I had searched is on Allrecipes. Now..I wanted to give this author every chance in the world..maybe she had posted the recipes to Allrecipes, but NOPE they were posted by other people!! Can you say FRAUD??? She has the cajones to be charging people almost $7 for stolen recipes!

Here are just SOME examples of the author's recipes (some with a bit of moderations made, but not enough to call them her own!) and the all recipes link:

The book is built on a simple premise: to guide you to put together healthy, tasty but simple meals in the limited time that modern life affords you: about 30 minutes to be precise. `Busy moms, dads and other professionals' may take heart, they may not be indulgent in the art of cooking, but they would not be guilty either, for neglecting this important chore, or feeding decadent food to their loved ones. There is as much accent on healthy diet as on fast cooking.

The author lays a great emphasis on Gluten Free ingredients. Gluten in food, we are told, hinders absorption of vitamins, so essential for good health. Thus wheat is a strict no no, for gluten watchers. But other whole grains are great health boosters, which should form part of any healthy meal.

The author also guides you about which oils to prefer, which seasonings to pick and even on cooking ware. When it comes to the recipes you really enjoy the choices laid out before you. Foods for all occasions and tastes: you name it and the book has it. There are chicken, beef, pork, fish, ham bacon recipes of all styles, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, and American. Then there is a great range of choices on vegetarian, vegan and vegetable dishes.

The sections on Soups and Extras were my special favorites. There are eleven types of soups from bean through rice to noodle soups. The Extras, comprising mostly of salads will delight you for their simplicity and food value.

'30 Minute Meals Recipes' has definitely made my cooking simpler, tastier and healthier.

It is so nice to run across a book such as this. A lot of "easy" and "quick" recipe books are little more than pamphlets. 30 Minutes Meals is a nice-sized collection of recipes for anyone no matter what your tastes might be. Each recipe is intended to help you create simple but overall healthy meal for you and/or your family.

I appreciated how the author, C. Elias, began with several pages discussing the overall methodology, an overview of how we can make healthier choices, and discussed cooking nonstick pans and more. Especially important today is the concept of gluten-free when needed for those with allergies and this book addresses that issue well by including several gluten-free recipes.

Then the fun begins! The first section includes a multitude of Vegetarian dishes all of which take a half-hour or less to make! And we find that these kinds of dishes do not have to be a main course for those of us who are not vegetarians. We often cook dishes like these, such as the Rice Stuffed Mushrooms (which are gluten-free here by the way!) as a side dish to our meat item. Doing more than just spooning a veggie onto the plate next to the meat is a nice bonus to meals and these are all SO fast to prepare in this book that you'll have time to go the extra step if you want to spruce up your family's plates.

The chicken, fish, and soup sections just go on and on with recipes that are quick to make and easy. Let me say that the author obvious has a lot of fun in the kitchen because all of these recipes, and the front and back sections, are each written with a friendly, upbeat tone that makes you want to try each one. This is a book I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for any busy cook who wants to maximize your time in the kitchen!
