5.0 out of 5 stars great results so far! August 28, 2012
By Jo D.
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If all the recipes are as wonderful as the French bread and Bbq sauce recipes I've tried so far than this book is a winner! Not just for all seasons but for all occasions from a casual Sunday Football party to an elegant Holiday Party and everything in between. The French Bread with some Honey Cinnamon Butter* is to die for and smells so good! I can't wait to make French Toast with this bread. Or I will if there is any left in the morning! Trust me make two loaves!

* Cinnamon Honey Butter is not in this book. Its easy to make. Equal parts of Honey and softened butter whipped together with a little cinnamon to taste. I usually do 8 oz of each ( 1/2cup) honey and butter with 1 tsp cinnamon or allspice.

5.0 out of 5 stars I had no idea honey could be so interesting! May 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is quite a nice book. The headings are divided by meal types (An Elegant Evening, Breakfast Buffet Brunch, Ladies Luncheon, Beehive Picnic, etc., etc.)so you can either mix and match menus or just stick to the suggestions.

Haven't really been a major honey fan as I've found the flavor a bit strong for me and I'm not really a tea drinker (which is how I normally associate the use of honey). But this book has been a revelation in a way.

The recipes are quite varied and don't stick to just the sweet types. It covers the range from breads, entrees, salads, appetizers and so on. And the recipes are good! I've tried a couple of the bread recipes (biscuit and corn bread) and the flavor and texture were excellent. The honey made the breads more moist and the honey really heightened the flavor (especially when I slathered it with butter...ummmmm!)

Then I added honey to my version of coleslaw (which was a bit similar to the recipe in the book) and that worked out great, too. Now I can't wait to have the opportunity to use the recipe here for the kebabs and pork loin as Memorial Day is coming up and it would be a great addition to the food we normally prepare for the family.

I am really happy when books I get turn out to be so useful and this particular one is proving to be an excellent addition to my go-to cookbooks.

4.0 out of 5 stars good read December 28, 2012

Excellent uses of honey. Never realized honey was so easy to include in my diet and it's much better than refined sugar or artificial sweetners.

I love cooking with honey and I'm very excited to now have these recipes. I think it is the best natural sweetner and I live in an area with many honeyfarms so I always have fresh wonderful honey. I think I will start with the apple croissant brunch bake. Thank you for sharing these wonderful recipes that I know I will really enjoy. I'm gonna need to buy more honey :)

I'm so glad I came across this recipe book. It has some wonderful recipes. I've tried a few and will try many more, I'm sure. Replacing sugar with honey has to be healthier too!

1.0 out of 5 stars This is not strictly a honey cookbook
It's very frustrating when you think you are purchasing a honey cookbook, only to find that it also uses white sugar or brown sugar in the recipes. I returned it.

While I am limited on the use of sugar, I find using honey (specially different types) is a perfect alternative in both cooking and in tea.

More About the Author

Standing on a chair with a dishtowel as an apron, I started cooking at the age of 4. My love of cooking and experimenting in the kitchen led me to restaurant ownership and a successful catering business--all while raising three sons on a ranch at the Wyoming and South Dakota border. For the past 25 years, I have served and catered several events: weddings, church gatherings, and corporate affairs. I enjoy sharing my heart and passion of cooking with the world.

Even today, my friends, past clients, and readers e-mail or call me. They all have one purpose in mind: "hey, do you have a recipe that serves X number of people?" Or, "Hey, do you have a recipe on X?"

Keep the messages coming! I love to help people with my cooking experience and I want others to learn how to best serve those around them with hospitality and food.
