A Solid Debut CD [...],
This review is from: Reciprocal (Audio CD)
To clear up things, this is not a CD by the band that put out Actual Reality in 1998. It's by a band in Los Angeles, California. I should know, it's my band.
This CD features songs written over a large span of time. There are plenty more songs to be released on future CDs. This is the "get-your-foot-in-the-door" release. The uptempo songs like "Elevator", "Down In the Dumps," and "Doubt" are cushioned between edgy dark tunes "Ever After" and a political song "Model Citizen." There's also a dose of pop/rock with harmony vocals in the songs "Waiting," "Justify," and "A Common Destination." There's even a bonus track that "completes" the CD experience. A standout track, the one that sort of adds a pause to the affair, is the solo acoustic song "Unsure." This, and the lilting "Wishing Well" have been preferred by many, because they are so distinctive. Peter Gabriel even sent his kudos for "Wishing Well" ! So take a listen, and purchase the songs via iTunes, or the CD via CD Baby.com. The band hasn't sent any copies to Amazon, and has no account with them, and the copies on offer probably haven't even been purchased yet, and being flipped at an exaggerated price by someone set on ripping you off.
