Book Description

This text describes in detail all aspects of a reciprocating pump from the standpoint of the designer and user. The information supplies a wealth of knowledge in theory, design, and use. Details of special pump applications such as slurry pumping, analysis of problems, and the design of liquid end parts are all special features of this book. Autofrettage of liquid end is worth the cost of this book. Suction requirements are thoroughly discussed, pulsation dampening is completely covered, and many useful tables, charts and conversions are included. Engineers, technicians, and designers in nuclear, metals, petroleum, chemical, manufacturing, and other industries will find the information they need to use The Reciprocating Pump in their specialty areas.

This review is from: The Reciprocating Pump: Theory, Design, and Use (Hardcover)
The author of this book is deceased but I have talked to his son in Frisco, TX and the company or it's successor is still a go to source in the oilfield industry for pump issues. There is not much else to learn on the subject in an office. The only thing further is hands on experience with one of the many builders or rebuilders of these very sensitive pumps.
