4.0 out of 5 stars Hot and enjoyable, September 1, 2005
This review is from: Reckless Conduct (Hardcover)
The dynamics between Marcus and Harriet are incredible. They definitely have the chemistry, and there are some very hot scenes.

Harriet has decided to go blonde and remake herself in order to turn her life around. She associates "blonde" with assertiveness and desirability, and hopes that by creating the image, she will become the image she wants to be. Marcus, on the other hand, has a poor impression of blondes from past experiences, and tries his best to dissuade her. What follows is a humorous and rocky romance.

Some parts may seem a bit unrealistic, but Harriet does not turn into a "blonde" overnight. Thankfully, the author keeps her in character. Though Harriet acts and the part of a floozy blondie, she does not suddenly let go of all her inhibitions. The ending was a definite surprise, and I finished the book with a smile on my face.

I will definitely keep an eye out for more of Susan Napier's books (and search out her backlist).

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the many Favorites out there for me, January 12, 2009
The reason I love this story so much is because I wanted pure fantasy mixed with humor. This story is light and fun to read. I LOVE how the heroine makes the hero so baffled and frustrated with her "antics" that it was hilarious and definitely one of my many favorites.

Alpha Male? Definitely yes
Faithful? 100% YES
Favorite? I read it over and over so many times

4.0 out of 5 stars Tantalizing, January 25, 2003

[...]. This story is very good. It really heats up at page 134. Whew, wow and hot. Strong and likable hero(Marcus), but at times I had to wonder about the heroine (Harriet). That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I realize she strongly needed to change her life/image but trying to have serial/promiscuous sex just didn't ring true. It's not as bad as it sounds, cause she never really gets to do it, but it just didn't mesh with her character. Interesting and hot read. Try it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Light and sweet, October 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A light and sweet romp with a likeable hero and heroine. Very comedic situations. Improbable scenario but this doesn't take away from the book. Last few paragraphs paint a very funny and happy picture. A re-issue that was an enjoyable find.

5.0 out of 5 stars 9 to 5 series, June 24, 2001
By A Customer
I enjoyed this book.

from the back cover:

Behaving badly...

Harriet attended the company's New Year's Eve party in all innocence. It wasn't her fault that the punch she'd been drinking was stronger than expected, so that she ended up confiding in a gorgeous stranger about her broken engagement. How was she to know she'd been pouring her heart out to the chairman himself, Marcus Fox?

...at the office party!

Now Harriet has to work with Marcus. Luckily, she's since changed her image, dyed her hair blond and is a model secretary. Unluckily, Marcus still recognizes her and seems determined to punish Harriet for her reckless conduct!
