Reckless For Cowboy
on September 24, 2012
Brooke Hamilton is determined to shrug off the presence of super hot cowboy Cooper Hays, who shows up at the bar she tends during the Calgary Stampede week. Brooke's got a long list of cowboys who've loved and left her, and she's not ever going down that road again. But when Brooke makes a bet she thought she had no chance of losing, and proceeds to lose said bet, she can't welch on it. Cooper has two dates and a dance to prove to Brooke he has no plans to leave her anytime soon.
This was pretty hot; Cooper and Brooke had great chemistry. Cooper is just all man, so alpha and sexy. I loved him. Brooke, I understood her motivations, and sweeping generalization or not, it did makes sense to me. I really liked both characters, and this was a fun relationship to watch unfold. However, the pace these two have their romance in is too short, which greatly effects the credibility of the ending. I realize this is a common issue in romance novels (the relationship progression time span aka: the amazing race to the "L" bomb), but sometimes it's worse that others, and this one I felt was too fast.
Still, the romance was adorable and I did enjoy it. I'd definitely recommend this, it's a short and sexy little read. A great way to pass the time.
